  1. Michael your making this look "All to easy". That was cheesy but it's what I thought of after I initially wrote the comment. I was also wondering if there was any progress on the little cutter.
  2. Suddenly I'm starting to fear cotton balls. That's a lot of guns. Great work she's looks as beautiful as she does menacing.
  3. Would the cannons rope be tighter and would that stop the recoil? I imagine even with the lines down at deck level you still wouldn't want the cannons rolling over them especially while being trailed by an enemy ship which those cannons would be firing at. Also maybe higher is better since it looks as though the cannons may recoil under the lines.
  4. Wow that is a long list. I will probably enlist your help on an RC ship I'm working on. I need to get a log up for it but I'm trying to finish a few requests first. That is a long list. You certainly keep busy. If you ever you get back to SIB building post a log I'd love to follow your progress. I think you would pick up on it pretty quick. I've only been doing this a year and a half your sure to catch up to me.
  5. Well if that isn't a redirect i don't know what is. Sjors while you are given a lot of "crap" for side tracking threads I do very much appreciate how fun you make this forum.
  6. To further the nautical flair we aught to keel haul the ground hog and or hang him from the yard arm at very least a good lashing,
  7. I didn't know you could wax a snow shovel. I may try that. Yea I got all these pots on the patio with some tomatoes and green peppers. Guess I'll have to bring them in before tonight. I understand having snow in the higher elevations but I'm sick of the cold. It needs to warm up already.
  8. Good to see this one on here again. I think there's a lot of pictures I hadn't seen before. This really is a cool bottle. The reflection in the water is my favorite part. Great job.
  9. I can't believe some one cut open the bottle and glued it back together. That's totally cheating! Great work on the cover up though. My only fear would be that they would think that's how you got your ship in there. Great work on the split hull. You can't see where it splits until you point it out which is exactly what you want. I totally like the new ship better then the old one. Good work. I think this is a great start I would leave this SIB as is. If your going to revisit this I say start a new ship altogether. I always suggest starting with teriyaki bottles you get at the grocery store. The opening is nice and wide so there's room for error and the inside of the bottle is a good size as well. Should look something like this. If you do start another make sure to have a build log. I would love to follow your work.
  10. Just tell her it's for "research" or you could tell her the truth that your online friends will mock you relentlessly until you do.
  11. You know Popeye the only problem with picking up this book is it will take up a portion of your build time which means less pictures which means you know what for you know who.
  12. I still need to finish Hitch Hikers. What I read was hilarious I don't know why I stopped. Ido think though Popeye the off the wall humor would be right up your alley.
  13. Al that is awesome! Thanks for sharing. I really should do the Pearl. It was that ship that got me into ship in bottle building in the first place. Maybe once I get these two Mercury's, the Satisfaction and a mini ghost ship done. I got to stop saying yes to commissions and requests. They get in the way of what I want to do.
  14. I guess while I'm here I'll post some pictures of the progress. Got the hull more or less carved. I'm now working on getting the weather deck carved out. Needs to come down a little more.
  15. Thank you all. Yea I thought more people would have noticed how young I am after mentioning my three year old in a few threads. I'll be sure to pile on a few more. After all it's statistically proven that people who have more birthdays live longer.
  16. No it wasn't that bad like you I couldn't resist having some fun with it. I will say your photos in the other thread are better though. Thank you for your compliments. I'm really flattered to receive such great feed back from such accomplished builders.
  17. Thank you all for your comments. I will look into the Byrnes, Micromark, and Proxxons saws. I will wait on it though. I figured 40 bucks I could swing for a saw but a hundred might drive the Admiral nuts. Good to throw on the wish list though.
  18. I totally understand Bob. We would never know but you would and it would bug you every time you looked at it. You'll enjoy it all the more after the redo.
  19. I totally agree! I have six ships in my living room on one shelf. They are so inconspicuous the Admiral doesn't mind at all. Also way cheaper to build.
