  3. They would have needed to be rigged to the hull for handling and recoil absorption purposes.
  4. Have you thought about just making the fittings? I know it sounds like a lot work, but for me, fitting out the model (including making the fittings) is one of my favorite parts of the hobby. I made the discovery a few years ago that there is very little difference between scratch building and kit building in this hobby when I built my Prince de Neufchatel. Making everything is a lot of fun and nowhere near as difficult as it may seem at first glance!
  5. Yes, it looks like the boom is attached to the bracket. It also looks like a davit to me with that boat next to the yacht.
  6. I built one of these 15 years ago as one of my first ever wooden model boats. It was a very good model to learn on.

  9. 17th Century ships are some of my favorites. I am looking forward to seeing your build of La Couronne come together. I would like to build mine a few builds down the road.
