Check out the HMS Triton group build on this forum. The plans are $5 from the NRG and can be built as POF, POB or a cross section. Everything is pre-lofted and the Triton is a frigate from the 1770’s. The HMS Winchelsea is another excellent project that is the subject of a group build on this forum. The plans are $15 from the NRG and it is designed as a POB build. The Winchelsea is a frigate from 1764.

Lomellina was slightly larger than the Revenge (granted built later, but similar time period), and the Revenge has a bonaventure mast.

The bottom body plan is to the outside of the planking below the waterline. The top body plan is to the outside of the frames. My plans for the Solferino are from the same source. Looking forward to seeing a build of Montebello!

You and me both. That’s why my Victory is only half complete and sits on a shelf now. Sometimes I get in the mood for a battle wagon and then I work on the Victory, but most of the time I want to work on those ships I find beautiful.

And four anchors, awaiting sealing/painting: They’re not perfect, but they’ll work quite well.

The anchors and anchor stocks are mostly done: As can be seen, I used the box from some snack cakes as raw material. I essentially layer up the card and then shape and trim as needed with a fresh scalpel blade, which is extremely sharp. I made the banding from a sheet of scrap paper that I had laying around. Next up, I will final shape the anchor shanks and assemble the whole thing. When working from card it is beneficial to seal pieces after assembly, being the sealant stiffens up the card and makes it easier to work with. Using CA with thin pieces helps too. I did that a lot when building the Solferino due to the small scale (1/200). Once you seal everything and layer up the card, after giving the glue time to cure, card works similar to wood.
