Hi Boyd, Thanks for dropping by and thanks for the kind words. I'm not familiar with the Bounty kit but if AL stick true to form, I've found a few errors and omissions in their instructions. Enjoy the build and I'll drop by and check it out. Hi Slog, Sorry I didn't get back to you earlier, they are custom mix colours using the Tamiya acrylic model paints and based on the colour scheme of the replica vessel. I don't know whether that was the smart thing to do but I'm stuck with it now. Happy modeling All, Cheers, Rowan D.

G'day Graham, You've picked a corker of project as your first build as have I. The planking drove me to frustration as did the lack of relevant instructions in the kit but with the good advice and support of the more experienced modelers on MSW, I got through that part with my mind and the model relatively intact. The secret I found was to take my time and work slowly and call for advice when I got stuck. There's lots of great folk on MWS with lots of good info and good ideas. Pat's comments (above) are spot on, I've found some of mistakes on my model along the way and pondered the obvious - can I put up with them? Most of them I couldn't and re-did the work to fix them up, a couple I've left because they'll disappear as the work progresses. My meager offering of advice is to keep reading the instructions several stages ahead of where you're working because there'll be information somewhere that is relevant to the stage you're working on. Happy modeling Mate, you're going great guns! Cheers, Rowan D.

Happy Sunday All, I'll offer my meager excuses for my absence - It's been a pretty busy time for us over the last several months with a new job, the Admiral on extended shore leave and Christmas in the mix. I'm pretty happy to say that the Admiral received good news from her Dr and is back on deck now and at the con. I realise it's been a while since my last visit to MSW but I haven't been too idle. I've managed to complete the modifications on the stern and refit the rubbing strakes as well as weather the decks. I uhmmmmed and ahhhhed over what to do with the decks for quite a while, sought some inspiration and then got a rush of blood, masked the boat up and did it. The finished product is growing on me, I wasn't completely satisfied but after a few days and a few more looks at it, I've decided to leave it alone now. I'm happy with the additional work on the stern as well and can continue on with the build now. Here are the photos..... Have a good one, rowand

Hello All, I managed to get some work done on the model, I had to fix a couple of mistakes and so I have been tinkering with the Transom and removing the Rubbing Strakes on the hull. Here's a couple of photos to show a bit of the progress.... I cut out the edge on both sides of the transom and added a fill in block to sand and paint. The rubbing strakes were one plank too high on the hull and so they had to be removed and re-done. Yep, those darn AL instructions got me, more cautious now. I'll post some more photos when I finish the fix-ups. Thanks to you All for the encouragement and kind words, have a great week, Cheers, Rowan D.

Hi All, The Endeavour has been in and out of dry dock, mostly in though but I have been tinkering with bits and pieces but not managed to make any real progress that is worthy of a photo. I'm re-working some of the stern. I didn't like the look of the little changes I made and decided to fix them up so I'm about a quarter of the way through getting back to where I was a while ago, if that makes sense. Mean while, I've taken up full-time work and that's taken up quite a bit of my free time thus the in and out of dry dock. Sorry for the slow updates but we'll get there. In the mean time, I'm enjoying watching the amazing progress on your builds, happy modelling and stay well. Cheers, Rowan D.
