  1. Hello Lou, As you might remember, I am also building Cutty Sark from Sergal. I am currently struggling a bit how to arrange the copperplates on the bottom of the keelplate as well as on the front end. Could you please enlighten us how you did it or send us some detailed pictures? @ everybody: also pictures how you solved this on a different could greatly help me. Many thanks
  2. This very nice built makes me more enthusiastic to work on mine. Thanks for sharing.
  3. Hello Blunty, I was wondering if you made any further progress, as your Cutty Sark is looking great.
  4. Looking great Daryl, was not aware that there are so many deadeyes! I will have some less on my wooltrade Cutty Sark, to the contrary I have some more copperplates (about 240), as her wool-draft is 2'6'' more than her tea-draft. 😉 Keep up the good work!
  5. I am coppering plate by plate (15 x 5 mm) and overlapping each of them. A slow process, but I am happy with the result.
  6. It is a delight to see such a marvellous model taking shape.
  7. I have prepared a layout for the plating of the copper plates Copper plating aftship.pdf
  8. Thanks for asking: the upper part of the inner bulwarks will indeed be planked
  9. Being not so much fan of Sergal: what you see here has no single piece in it from the kit I bought. To be honest, that was some 25 years ago and the wood is in poor condition.
  10. Oeps, I notice that it is more than 6 months ago since I last posted some progress on my Cutty Sark. Not that I have been working constantly on her, but the brass bulwark caused more scratching behind the ear than I expected. To tell the truth there were more than 526 planks to be laid on the 2nd layer. But having polished the hull the best I could, it is a joy to feel the lines of the hull 😄 And now I will have to start on the 2500+ copper plates 🤔
  11. Great! Another member of the Cutty Sark club. I will follow with great interest. Keep up the nice work
