Cheers Nigel and mobbsie! Yeah, I want the sagging ratlines like the original has. But that seems hard to make. Thanks for the likes! /Matti

Hey all! Here are some pictures of the shrouds: Quite enjoyable stage of the build, and changes the look of the model alot, at least in my eyes. The ratlines will be testing my nerves though Im sure... /Matti

Update time finally. Here are the finished chainplates and channels for the main mast: It's some work to make them, especially reshaping the deadeyes and scratching the metalparts. It feels good to do some other work now before starting with the next mast. /Matti

Thanks all! Celebrated it last weekend. I'm working on mounting the chainplates to the channels. I haven't heard anything of the book lately Jan. /Matti

Hey Karl, thanks! Yeah especially now that Vasa II is to be released and new information may arise. /Matti

Good job on the stern! Will you do her "without" tar like the 1/10? Just a heads up, in my opinion a lot of pictures of the 1/10 look brighter in many images compaired to how it looks IRL. Not a huge difference, but it's more muted, especially the professional shots on the museum site. /Matti

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
