  1. Cannons Pile says Cannons, now if you please, the Royal Gaurd, An Admiral, a Comander, a lieutenant , and two crew. All painted this morning, Army Speed paint, I really like this stuff. A bit of thouch ups because of shakey painter syndrome lol, but they will be fine. My Speed paint shop department, and the crew. All that is missing is the Duchess herself, but I am working on it. Wow Pile is impatient for Cannons, I better go "getter"done. Bob M
  2. Yes you do, they are fantastic . And if you only get the chance to build one, get the biggest one he has lol. I put together the Foremast, don't shake the table nothing is glued. Took the picture, then put it all away. As PFCGP, has said we have two cannons to rig, let's get to it Shell we. So on to rigging the last two cannons, plus a lot more sanding coming up with the masts. Pile is getting uppity about how much time I am spending painting figures. Now he hears there is plans for a ferris wheel, in his Irish accent he said Hack, man did Don Keith Oaty kick you in the head, you don't kin what your doing. Pay attention to the task at hand. Lol. Yeah I know, back to the shipyard, oh wait I never left lol. Good bye. Bob M. And the crew.
  3. Bryan, Congratulations that looks so cool. The wall hanging is fantastic. And look at all the other builds you have in the back ground, lol .Holy your a hard man to keep up with. Great job my man. Bob M. And the gang, lol.
  4. Today I received my carriages, had to make a bit of an alteration , a quick nip at the top and the all looked the same. The Admiral figure is fantastic. I have to figure out what to call the little fellow. But I like him. Pile is a bit more Irish, he was going to join the Navy once, but they told him he would have to cut his hair and shave. He laughed for 6 weeks after that request. Goober got a job in the parts department, and Pile now has to order though him lol. Started making the masts, but I am done for the night so, I put it all away on the mast board and shelf it. I may go figure painting though, the new Adrmrial wants to look the part. Just waiting for a few things to arrive. And I have to replace two rope coils, I found them to large, so redoing them. Thanks everyone, today special thanks go's to @Glenn-UK his posting (check out his log , it is fantastic) on how he made his masts just click the switch on for me. Thanks for posting my friend. All though I don't have a leath , I can putty and fix things pretty good. Lol. Another happy MSW/NRG member. ok on to the mast, there is a whole lot of details here, more fun Bob M. PFCGP Goober
  5. Thank you so for your detailed postings, your work is awesome. I am just doing my masts now, this is helping so much my man I just had to thank you, Bob M.
  6. This will be were my Mississippi diorama will be placed when finished. First I will cut and trim the green carpet then, It will have a RHE rail line, rabbit hole express, name by @Keith Black thanks my man. The Green line will be were the ferris wheel will go, the red lines are road ways, blue is the water and the yellow line is were scenery pictures will go. Beside the green tractor will be a corel system. Some of the figures are, And the man in black with sunglasses lol My good freind and fellow modeler @Gabek has provided me with lots of figures for the boat, I will have a crew working on replacing the broken pitman .As well as some kids and ladies with umbrellumbrellas. They are all painted and ready to install. The figures are amazing esay to paint, it is the Army speed paint that does the work it is amazing stuff. So I brought the display back down to the shipyard Then I put most of it away, I have a few figures for the Duchess but they are in the early stages of painting. At least they have faces lol. The figures I got from A L are faceless, and the women have man faces, one even has a beard lol. At least you won't see them up close. Well that's it for now, awaiting ferris wheel, and water effects supplies. This will take for ever lol. Thanks for looking. Bob M. PFCGP GOOBER
  7. Well done Smokey 030, I really enjoyed this kit as well. There is some difference between the two but your's looks great. Well done. Congratulations Bob M.
  8. No, I belive I misunderstood. You did say seizing, I can't read all that well. But for seizing, I use the smallest thread I have If the line is black, I use light color thread, if the line is light I use black, for contrast.. But I was told to use the smallest thread I could fine. My apologies for the confusion 😕 Bob M.
  9. Hello Toolmaker, I am in the process of getting ready to do some serving , I can find alot of info on how to do it, but little on what sizes to use. Check out @Blue Ensign, log for his Pegasus. He lists some sizes he used for his 1:64 , that's what I am baseing my lines on. Plus it's a fantastic log as well hope this helps. I have only made 18 inches of practice line so far lol. Good luck, I be looking to see what you find. Bob M.
  10. Wow, I thought it had a coat of stain, I really like that color, can't wait to see what it looks like with some finish on it. Great work. Bob. M.
  11. The stain job looks great I like it, nicely done.!! Bob M.
  12. This is definitely the best place to be, everything is right here. As far as Zen go's I don't know, I still hear voices telling me to buy another model. Good luck on your journey.!! Bob M.
  13. Just a little progress, I have rigged 3 cannons so far, I had to order two cannon carriages, and unlike @ERS Rich order which took a week from the UK to Boston, mine took 4days to come from the UK, then it stuck in Montreal Canada costoms for the passed 5 days and counting lol. Oh well what can you do. These cannons are fun to rig, I have no idea if these are done correctly but it's they way I did them. Breeching rope and two blocks , then seized the lines and glue them in. I made a plan so that when the other two cannons finally get here I will remember how I did these lol. The rope coils look ok, I made four turns of the rope, and I guess I should have only did 2 or 3 turns. Oh by the way, Private First Class Gnomer Pile got himself a make over. What do you think, He was very insistent on keeping his KB Lantern copper and the light on. He got caught up in a painting spree the other night, I painted 17 figures , and his cousin Goober.. These figures are ok for my diorama that I am doing, but they have no face, if you zoom in close, the are faceless. But from afar they will be OK. Man I am tired, lol. Gardening and canning by day, painting and rigging by night lol.. Thank you so much everyone, taking the afternoon off to watch the Bowl game, here in Manitoba, but right after that the First Mate says it time to change the attachments on the tractor from rotter tilling to potatoes digging lol. The fun never stop. How does that saying go, I will sleep when I am dead lol 😆 😂 Later my friend's. Bob M.
  14. Nice work Keith, that looks impressive. I have an old fuel oil tank that looks just like this except mine is silver, great work Bob M.
  15. Congratulations on a wonderful model, it looks awesome, well done , mio amico. . Bob M.

  17. Well I can't believe it's just been 30days that I have been working on this ship. It's a dream to put together, everything just fits were it is supposed to. Except the cannon balls. The frist rack I put together the balls kept flying everywhere. Then I drop the bag. Yep, those little, tiny winy balls all over the black and grey carpet that's in the ship room. No cuss words were used lol. I don't know how many spare balls I had but I have one extra, which is better than one short.lol. For the next three racks I put a drop of Phatic glue first then added the ball , they stayed in place. SO this brings me to step number 217, which is the start of masts and rigging. Yeppie.. I have everything done except the cannons, all eyebolts, nails, paint thouch ups are done. Bang two coats of 2x flat clear coat, and she look marvelous. But now I have to go get my 16x24 deck , on my house, painted, and the First Mates garden is ready for harvest. I will have to rototill for her as well. And on raining days I will be painting figures for the King of the Mississippi , plus adding the water for the river and working on the train. So it may be awhile before I start the mast and yards. I made up a mast board to build up the masts when the time comes. Ok my friends that's it for awhile, ya right lol. 😆 🤣. Thank you so much everyone, you all have been such a great help. On to serving and seizing and masting oh MY. Lol right after painting and rototilling and canning oh my. lol 😆 😂 Bob M. PFCGP GOOBER
  18. Awesome model my freind, well done definitely a keeper. Bob M.
