Hey @DocRob , yes I should have left the figurehead off until later. You would have thought that I learnt my lesson with the Pegasus, I broke that figurehead four time before my daughter said she will buy me a new one, lol. I put that one together, Now the Pegasus figurehead sits in a jar, waiting till I get back to it. I was going to leave the figurehead off for now, but the upper rails went on over the figurehead, so I thought I had to do it now In hind site I could have left the upper rail off on one side till It was safe, but I was more concerned about putting it on than the smart way of doing it, oh well. The wales and channels were installed, the first upper two steps go in-between the photo etch crowns. After that I used a straight edge ti line them up , and I still got them off a bit, but you know me, it'll will do. I made the hand rails above the dome, and on the stren, painted those this morning. I do have some small cleats to put on the bell tower and the Staghorns to install . I am waiting for my replacement cannons, two of the cannons didn't stand a chance against a 270 pound Neanderthal. You couldn't even tell what they were lol. As far as the ship's boat goes , I had three choice, One use the boat from my Pegasus build, I tryed that, but the lights in the ship yard started flickering the temperature dropped , and the furnace growled. I took it off everything went back to normal. Lol. Two and three are a 18 foot cutter and a 24 foot yawl, both are two large. So I message @Gabek to see what he thinks. He's my figure man and all resin parts. The man is fantastic. I might not even put one on, but DocRob" s ships boat is fantastic Ok , once around the horn for pictures, then going to try to rig the four cannons I have left. Then it's TIME to get ready for mast and rigging. Were did August go, lol. So this is how she looks today, almost like page almost like page 216 of the manual. And it says your model should look like this at this point,, and I belive it does lol Thanks so much everyone for all the help I gotten over the last three years now I can see some positive things happening in my builds. But I am not cocky I have so much to learn. Ok thanks for looking, now on to the RIGGING. Bob M PFCGP Goober

These are the pictures that go with the last post, you can see I lost the nights feather. Oh well only we will know. On to the stairs and finish the rails and then the channels. Then I am going to go back and look things over to see if I missed anything, two things I have to nail the photo-etch on and the top Pintle strap has to be painted black and put on. Ok later my freinds, our internet is so bad, having a hard time with loading pages, this sucks. but the son is on it, He says it's our server, so he's dealing with them for me. It will be the middle of next week before this is fixed.lol I wonder how far I will get on the Duchess before I can up load pictures. Lol. Thanks for all the likes, and the looks , still Grinning, but not as much lol Bob M.

The ship's wheel turn out decent, IMHO lol .As well as the rudder and fish plates. I had some troubles with the windlass bitts belaying rails , for some reason they were to short. So I added a few peices. It will do. Then two things happen, One Pile and Goober were in a huddle, they were trying to save my feelings, oh boy let's have it . It was going so well, but apparently I have glued a piece of photo-etch upside down. these little dots are at the bottom in the book, Now my computer is acting up, we got several problems 😑. They coming on the 5th to upgrade so they say. Lol. I can't load any pictures, but I had the bow sprit mast on, and just had to nick the mass so the night feather fit. It looked great. But I broke it off some were and the hunt is on, but I think she's lost oh well strike two, what can you do lol. Talk soon my freinds I hope Bob M.

I needed coffee today, late night. Lol The ships wheel went together great. I just got my new speed paint kit.And I painted the ship's wheel. I think I will paint the tips of the handles black. Pile gave it the once over, but having rigged the ships wheel on my Pegasus, four times, I nailed it first time. I am just letting things dry and the lines stretch out. so now I will put together the Mizzen bits , maybe the aft deck rails , stairs, pumps oh my so much fun, enjoying the moment 😄 Bob M.

@Glen McGuire funny you should ask, meet Goober, he just arrived from the Artic. He was out servaing artic Penguins. He needs time to warm up lol. Pile was quick to point out to Goober all the photo etch on the port side is finished. I used Super Phatic glue on the photo-etch, it works like contact cement and cleans up with water. Best of all it drys clear. So tomorrow I will brush on a coat of flat varnish just to seal it in that much better. Some minor paint thouch ups, but later, on to the starboard side. I can smell ratlines in the air, yeppie . I have 3 choices for ship's boat, jury is still out on which one.But another day for that 🤔. No all nighter today its my 48 wedding anniversary today so taking the first Mate out on the town. She is the love of my life, and she can sew sails fantastic. Lol Thanks again for everything my friends. Ales all around for everyone but me, lol. I quit in 1987 lol 😆 but I still party like a neanderthal lol take care my freinds Bob M. PFCGP GOOBER

Today I have glued the figurehead on. It sits nicely. Then I put the wales on, I used a peice of masking tape after the first wale was on to help line up the next , it was a peice of cake. Then I moved on to the catheads, and hawse bolsters, then the upper and lower rails. Pile says we need to fill under the figurehead, then he will pass it. So well all that is drying, time to start the photo etch. This is a fantastic kit, I am loven it. Well except for I steped on two cannon carriages, no worries Chris has lots I ordered two more lol. Thanks for looking. Bob. M.

Well @Keith Black I don't think I will be able to pull a late one tonight, everything is tacky, lol . I been told by PFC Gnomer Pile to cool it, cool it, cool it. Lol. But I am getting to all the fun stuff. And it amazing, its trure what the say once you go Vanguard there's no going back lol. After the hull was painted, I was putting things away, and peices for the sprail staircases were falling out of their sheets, so I made them and put them in the ship. They are very beautiful peices of pear wood. I love this stuff, the stairs look great never to be seen again lol. Oh well at least I know they're fantastic. Pile says make some more fun stuff the paint is still tacky . So I made the binnacle, Then I painted the cap rails, and painted and just placed the figure head. Pile kept a eye on the figure head as soon as it was dry on it went. I also made and installed the hatchs. Drill a bunch of holes for the eyebolts. And put the mast on, they are 2 inches longer than needed but I will damage one end when I put it in the drill to sander down. Oh and the railing around the stairs looks cool. 😎 I also am looking into a ship's boat for her, I saw @DocRob log of the Dutchess of Kingston fantastic, log and great looking ship I might add. As soon as I saw it I said oh yeah 😎 go to get one of those boats . Well what do you think, Pile says it's the kit, it's amazing follow the eazy to read instructions, and like Chris says, At this stage, your model should look like this. And I think I am close, from afar, but up close , yep I am a neanderthal lol. 😆. Thanks for looking in, the more you model the younger you feel. 😉 So long my freinds, thanks for all the help this place is awesome. Bob M. PFCGP

You know how I like to get side tracked lol. I was going to put some freizes on, but the white on the hull waterline was bugging me. So I redid it. I just sanded the waterline down I/2 inch from were it was and redrew it. I masked it of again and sprayed it. It now has 8 coats of paint. The first two primer coats followed by 2 coats of finish. Didn't like it so sprayed it again 2 coats primer 2 coats finished. It looks a lot better, I give it a 93.2 %. This is the new water line, it has a bit of an edge but a back side of a sharp chisel will fix that . It's not a @John Ruy hull , but I am happy with it. Next one will be better. Now I will work on some small stuff, deck furniture, ships wheel, Binnacle. And I am going to start making the masts as well lots of work there. I plan not to thouch the hull for a week or more, I want it to dry up and cure. Pile is in agreement with the ideal of leaving it the hull alone 😔. But it will be fun stuff to make the mast, and I am going to serve some line so I can rig some blocks. Thanks for looking and the likes. Bob M. PFCGP
