I just remembered why I call him Hothead ... dead race between us who is smarter, more skillful and more experienced ... two stubborn work table ... don't try this ... he he ... nice time together in our way In meantime, I stealed some time to finish another (fore) pair of sheaves and inside mooring pipes. No valuable and interesting picture to show. And next is ....- 4,152 replies

Thank you for nice words and likes Today is Orthodox Christmas, and I'll not work on Her, want to spend time for kids. And Admiral. Hothead will return to N.Sad on Sunday to his exams @Marc, I picked some of your ideas too. That is point, isn't it ? They are at Olymp, but, we can fly under and arround them and still their knowlidge. On the oposite, they can not still ours !!!! @Cpt. Steve, this time it was easy because I read your bashing log and learned how to do it !! @Denis, I am watching your barrels silently and carefly, thinking about metal and "metal" works !!! Thx @Bob, it seems one of little piggies finished on holliday dinner ... masked in chicken @Bruce, it is glad to see you here, and you like our "baby attempts " in modeling- 4,152 replies

On some photos, particulary old ones, sheaves are white, and on other, particulary new ones - black. I can not find now, but I am almost sure I found somewhere color photo ( ehich means - younger) with white sheaves

And semi-final look... ok, sheaves have to be a bit darker, and that is not final color for inside bulwarks, I was just curious ... When I tried to light up cigarette with super-glue instead lighter, and after that washed brush in a tea, I know it is enough for today And Hothead starts fooling around ... which mean ... danger for models ...- 4,152 replies

I agree Marc, sometime it seems we have Olymp full of modeling Gods here on MSW. Point is, for us mortals, not to be frustrated, be challenged and inspired. To fight with yourself Eight "perfect" sheaves in frame of my possibility- 4,152 replies

Task for today This time, holes are centered well, and a futur rope can pass - except Gandalf the Grey stand in front with his famous words to Balrog Made of veneer 0,5mm, preliminary painted black. Thinking about to "metalize" it a little ... there will be more precise painting when I bye ultra-thin brush Suddenly, a wave of inpatience attack me and I leave inside sheaves on aft inside bulwark for tomorrow. I'll try to make them more accurate than outside, because on this place it is more visible. Must engage some little dwarfs .... tricky .... and a challenge- 4,152 replies

Marc, take a look to Dan Vadas HMS Vulture, he gives me some bad ideas about wheel ... Piet, here we have soft winters with average temp -5℃ to +10℃ with couple of extreme days, so house isolation was not prepared for -13℃. Only a few days, but ... brrrrrr Mark, nice and very cold. Today is better +3℃ and different story. Pipes are made of wood and I was happy when I succeed to make them small Thanks for your likes, support and interesting- 4,152 replies

Marc, I think 0,5mm test hole will be fine, and after that decide about direction. Input hole can be ok, but output hole can be wider than you want. If you do this careful, enlarging drill diameter step by step, it has to be ok. I'd rather chose opposite direction. Outside sheaves are visible, inside are semi-hidden and covered with many other details. Except sheaves above aft deck. Waiting to see some pics !!!!- 4,152 replies

Just like that, Marc, and you just discover another "hidden" mistake I made, caused by long time ago lost hull lines. In that circumstances, it was just impossible to put sheaves in correct position beyond the stanchions and at the same time to open their holes through bullwark on correct place outside. I noticed that, and made decision to made and position inside and outside sheaves in "artistic way" - to look like as on place. The fact is that this approach can compromise rope line throught sheaves, but I intend yo improvise something on same way - 'to look like". I made mess at the begining, and there is not way out except the way I do (I think) - good painting, overload with details, etc etc. I think I am on right, and only possible way, looking how She look now from distance and in details I have made. Very much pleasure and joy, and I realy like working on Her- 4,152 replies

Ok, CS fleet is slowly wake up after holidays, so it is my turn After last 15-16 years when kids become teenagers and started to go out for New Year, this was first New Year we all spent together at home. Full heart ... Last couple of days I spent with Hothead and his arch models ( origami !?!?!) Occupied by him to learn me origami, and discovered that I am extreme untalented for paper exhibitions he do .... So, painting jobs are finished for now, and I climbed on deck, look left and right, in intend to finish inside content of main fore and aft bulwark, and said "hmmm ... where to start ?" A ha, "bulwark sheaves for main course and lower stuns' sheets", which Bob have done perfectly Considering my scaled C-plans, I started Nice pretty piece, but ...hmmmm, something is wrong. Something is really wrong... Short look at Lou's photo It is not good !!! Rip it off $%%$ Next try Better But here is the place where big big earlier mistake catch me... I wrote about my out-of-brain working on stanchions, when I made different number of them on left and right side. What I was thinking then, I do not know. Probably-nothing Result - different space between stanchions on left and right space !!! And a little space on a right bulwark for this 12mm long piece... But, there will be a lot stuff around to mask this To conclude : mess continues ... Enough for today, I hear Hothead calling to see his project for home decorative light ...- 4,152 replies
