Bob, if it could help about rereading/rewatching Dune, see my thouthts about all six books, movie and mini-series in my post : http://modelshipworld.com/index.php?/topic/2501-cutty-sark-by-nenad-m-started-on-tehnodidakta-19711983-plans-continued-on-campbell-plans/page-48#entry166850 I was also supprised that nibbing was much easier than I expected, and that there is some extra fun in nibbing- 4,151 replies

Very studious work. Hardly wait your progress
-
Very nice Bob ! And very fragile.! Give us more photos of your progress soon ! How you resolve inside curve of bilwark? Seem tricky to me. During nibbing I was thinking about solution of makeing pin rails little thicker (+0.5 mm) and maybe little wider (+1 mm) than in C-plans. Must do some visual testing about when time comes.Thinking, not big visual diference, and making them a bit larger will give some strenght, and a little easier way to equip them with dead eyes pins and other stuff Anyway, keep extraordinaty work ! Nenad

Thank you friends for likes and nice comments If I do not mess in further works ( ha ha) , to me also it seems that She will look nice when finished, which is pleasant surprise taking into account where I was (of course, if ignored irregular lines of decks and mentioned earlier BIG mistake that no one has discovered ... yet ...)- 4,151 replies

Just like that. My mistakes are much bigger, and intend to overload whole deck to mask them. Yours are invisible. That is exactly point in one of my first posts about "not run" thing. Saving all lines and curvatures and angles of deck lines and hull lines in proper shape and proportion is pretty f*** thing to do. I discover this too late, you have better luck or more skill Waiting for more of your good work Nenad

Despite the rain I am in the office Business crisis continues, and I'm more on MSW than on the cases ... About decking - next step I figured out that last plank in line near waterways is little wider than others, and there are some real tricky details to do I am not sure I am able do that, even it is great detail I have seen in other logs Loot of time to think about until evening- 4,151 replies

Nice job, Luca You have got right angle and curve of stern profile, which is really tricky. In the middle of the deck it seems that you had a small barely visible problem with the width of the bulwarks, or with a line of deck ? It is not quite visible, but right on that place, I bumped in swamp, so I looked very carefully. Or, it is only angle of shooting ? Keep good work Nenad

David, there are months behind me, when I was drowned in rough works, mostly my fault, and you have not idea how happy am I with this fine works and little pieces Of course, there will be more scraping and smothing, and every single veneer slice I made for decking is hand cutted and light sanded, and then "caulked" on longitudinal edge before glueing, but that is NOTHING in comparation with ENDLESS hull scraping and smothing I was passing through, usually followed with surgery works on hull and again hull works followed with surgery ...... Who have nothing in head, have in hands Bob Go on !!! Mark Spice flows in regular way- 4,151 replies

Reading your Log, I was fascinated, and to confess, a little afraid of that "rigging thing" which will catch me in my build Splendid work
-
Very good, Luca You follow plans well, even plans are quite different than CS in Greenwich on stern inside bulwark Those white panels ... They take couple of months on my CS, and they are so small, you can not even sneeze when working with them Realy nice looking inside bulwarks Keep god work ! Nenad

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
