I’m still thinking what to do with the deck.....

Still got time for it.

 

On this first of januari I think it's again time for an update.

The first one in 2019 and I think a lot more.......

 

I have make the second row of parts of the cabin and lay the second deck over it.

I have make re-enforcements at the stern and I have to do the same at the bow.

After that I can start with closing the hull.

It's a new way for me to do this.

I know how to plank but this????

The last two pictures shows you how It has to be done.

Because there is a lot of painting on the ship ( I believe everything has to be painted) the updates are not coming quick.

But they are coming 😀

I painted the deck with a green color that match most of it with the original.

Maybe I will put a layer of varnish over it but that's almost at the end.

Also make the lowest cabin and paint it white.

The cranes are make by 2 mm plywood.

When you put it together it will be a kind of box.

In my opinion it's the same as 25 years ago.

Of course as  Dutchman is this on your bucket list.....

I believe all the model builders who lives in Holland has build one.

I was looking for it in other forums but the only thing i find where restauration projects.

They build them when there was no internet.

So for me it’s again a adventure.

It is a interesting ship.

Not only see this one in real but also as a model.

The first was 25 years ago and the difference between the kits arehuge.

The first one i have to saw everything by myself and now it is laser cut.

Also you had two bye 2 boxes....one with wood and the other with the metal parts.

When you really want to do something else i can recommend this one!

First i need paint otherwise everything is standing in the way.

 

 

So, here we go..

 

The frames and strenghtenings are in place.

The beginning is there.

I also place the consoles for the axels and motor.( I don't use that because she stays static but want to show you how it works if you want it RC )

 

I have phone around and there will be no lights .......

I found it to expensive for what I want.

The model ,when she is finished, will stay at the workshop and don't go into the living room.

I'm only there when there is daylight so it's no use .

Grand was coming with the great idea to make her rc so someone can take it over......

I was telling it to Anja and she had the great idea to put light in it......

That should be for the first time for me to do.

So here are the new plans......

Light in the steering cabin, green on the outside for starboard, red for portside.

Maybe lights in the hull?

Light for a searchlight?

If anyone knows what to do.....tell me.

Then i don’t need a christmast tree anymore....

Health issues took me away from the workshop.

And because I'm a little tired of ratlines, shrouds and canons I thought this is a good change.

I will finish the other ones but not now.

I know now how she looks and how to build but as I say before.....each kit is different!

The first one was not laser cut.

This one is not totally planked!

I will close the hull but you will see how that goes.
