Thanks Sjors and Bob! We'll see if you're still saying that when I finish the planking hehe!
Cheers, Gerry
@Gerry,
Have faith in what you are doing.
You do it better then de most of us for the first time!
Be proud of it, as I should be it when this was my first planking!Sjors

I put a little offcut of timber on the inside bulwark, where the holes are being drilled.
Just saved any possible breakout/splintering of the timber there.
I read that in the manuel and i did that 🙂
Everything went just fine and on with the planking again....
@Glenn,
Thanks and also for the likes!

Derek, i was lost in the mist with that uvrou.
So i look it up and maybe you know it all ready but here it is:
From The Collaborative International Dictionary
Euphroe or uphroe or uvrou.
A block or long slat of wood perforated for the passage of the crowfoot or cords by wich an awning is held up.
Now i need a drink!

Hi Derek,
I love what you are doing!
Airbrush is something that i have not try yet.
Bottle of paint and a brush works fine for me🙂
Then something else.
Maybe i understand it wrong but “jung frau” is German and not Dutch.
In Dutch we call it “jonge vrouw” young woman.

Thanks Sjors, but you do know this my first ever ship of this type, right?
That doesn't matter if it is your first ship.
I build a few more and you are all ready doing a better job.
I take a look from time to time 🙂

No need to try harder James! The manual is superb. As a beginner I couldn't begin to take this on without something as good as that to help.
I’m not a beginner but it is true what Gerry is saying.
When you look at the manual you can see that it is written by a modeler him self.

Thanks Mugje,
I have found it at Bol.com 😄
It takes only 6 days before it arrives.
The Flirt from Chris Watton from England was only 3 days 🤣
But no rush....

Thank you both for the reaction.
I will see if i can find it in Holland.
@SpyGlass, (Derek?)
I don’t use filler, just a piece of wood.

Thanks for all te reactions.
Question.
What is CA gel?
Is that a kind of super glue?
Never hear of it.
I normally use wood glue that hold on the plank after 15 minutes and dry solid after 24 hours......
I will take care that I lay the planks smooth to each other.
I know that my sternpost is a little tiny at the bottom.
I was to fanatic with sanding.
I hope I can make the solution to glue a little wood on it and sand it down to the same thickness as the rest of the sternpost.
It's gonna be painted but I will see.

First planking is done!
On the last days of my vacation I have planked and did a lot of sanding.......
Normally I take a little sander machine called a mouse but because it is a small model I do it by hand.
The blisters are now on it 😢
Time to heal 🙂
I must say that the planking was not that easy...
Normally I have plank models that are over 1 meter long.
But I have done it.
And now tho the stern..
And then the second planking.
I only have to figure out how I clamp that second planking....
Maybe pushpins or those pins that you are using on a board?

Nice fix Gerry!
When you have place the stern with the fragile parts be careful when you are planking.
It’s easy to break those parts!

You are welcome Peter.
I will see how it goes with that spray can.
I understand your feelings Glenn.
That’s why I always use a brush but my wife was saying....try a can.
And who am i to go against the Admirals order? 😛
