With a copper bottom. Even Captain Slocum would like it. Don't forget the large radius on the port and starboard tops of the deck houses. Bob

I’m with Patrick. I pat myself on the back for figuring out how to rig a schooner and then I see what you are doing. I can only sit in amazement. Bob

If you left them off nobody would know, but it's those little details that people hardly notice that make them say, "WOW!" when they see the whole model. She's looking great. Bob

We can see you in that one stern shot. Very good gloss. Saw an add for Frog tape where they said after pressing the tape down coat the edges with our special anti bleed fluid. Sounds familiar. Bob

That little guy on the foot rope sure does fine rigging. I hope he gets a fine raise. More rum, maybe. Tell him I said job well done. Bob

I've always been a big admirer of this little boat, and it just keeps getting better. Bob

Take three pieces of wood. Put them together. Carve them. Take them apart. Paint them. Put them together again. That alone is great but then adding the stanchions and rails. . . Wow! Now I don’t know what to say. Bob

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
