  5. Gidday Robert. I am unsure of the Derfflinger kit you have. Is it the Battlecruiser Class or the Ship of the 17th Century. If it is the latter this link may be of some assistance. https://www.euromodel-ship.com/eng/derfflinger-i-i.php I hope the link works. All the best. Mark.
  6. Gidday RG and another warm welcome from the Land Downunder. Certainly an impressive list of airplanes. Some of the scales are huge. What medium did you use to make them? 7. Gidday Robert and a warm welcome from the Land Downunder. Regarding the missing parts list and instructions have you tried to contact the manufacturer? Hopefully they are still in business after all this time. I can share your experiences re "Medical Retirement". I was retired at 48 years of age. Restoring old cars is one of my interests but as you say it is expensive. Two of my car projects languishing out there awaiting funds and motivation. I hope someone here can help with your requests. 9. Gidday Bob. Glad to hear you are planning to buy some plans. I hope you realise that once you have them it is the beginning of "Scratch Building". You can do a lot of preliminary work from the plans without any construction. I envy your cold weather, OK maybe not so cold, we are expecting 33 Celsius tomorrow and 38 Celsius on Sunday. The roast dinner on Sunday will have to be postponed. Wishing you all the best with your build. Mark.
  10. Gidday Nick and another warm welcome from a neighbour Downunder. I can only reinforce what others have said. Check and re-check the kit contents against the parts list. Don't get hung up on terminology as there is plenty of information and support on this site. A clean clutter free, I say that with tongue firmly planted in cheek, well lit workspace. Regarding glue, I use Selleys Aquadhere PVA woodworking glue Because of some health issues I also use solvent free glues, less than 5% solvent, available at Bunnings Hardware. A set of files. Exacto knife and blades and more blades are pretty much the go to cutting implement. Exacto saw blades also come in handy. A small hammer and tweezers. Clamps and more clamps and more clamps. I use a magnifying lamp that clamps onto my workbench. I also use a small vise that clamps onto my workbench. Don't forget to ask questions when you get stuck. Wishing you all the best with your build. Mark.

  14. Gidday Bob. I would like to preface my reply with the following. I have no experience in lofting, I hope that is the right tense, so please forgive my ignorance. I agree this subject is fascinating and my interest has been piqued. Is it possible for you to purchase plans that have already been lofted? I am looking for the books recommended in the posts above. I hope you are not deterred in your endeavours to begin "scratch building". All the best with your build. Mark.
