  1. I'm with the enthralled group. My mind is totally boggled by this model.
  2. Mark, Your reference book recommendation is excellent and I was about to recommend it .
  3. A pity if they aren't or at least a few. They seem bring the models to life and also give a viewer a good idea of the size of the real thing.
  4. Looking very good, Bob. The sail came out very well. I fear that more and more penguins will be soon taking over MSW though I do agree with Glen that is a Nessie in your water. Hmm... did Nessie scare off the penguins?
  5. I thought that's why they were developing those kits? For us older types....
  6. Hmm.. that hand stabiliser looks like an interesting tool. How big is it and how is it used? I've familiar with the old sign painters method using a long stick of wood but not sure how something that small would work.
  7. If you ever get back to Dayton, PirateWhilly, visit Carillon Park and also the Air Force Museum. Both have dispalys if the Wright aircraft and tools. I used to live there about 30 years ago or so and they were great back then and quick Google says they're even better today.
  8. Run a search for "slitting blades" Those blades have no offset. I get a ton of hits so some sorting is needed... for example some only sell in quantity and sometimes it's a rather large quantity. I'm finally down to just a couple from Thurstan and need to restock myself. Last time I checked, Malco was one of those "quantity only" sales. ' Also, have you done a search here in this sub-forum for saw blades? There might be some recent posts that could help.
  9. Wow.. this is a master class in reverse engineering. Very well done, EG.
  10. Another update. Slow going with RL getting in the way at the moment. Got the bulwark tops trimmed and am pretty happy. I know the photo appears to show all the tops trimmed below the line but that's the camera angle's fault. A square shows me it's spot on.
  11. I'll toss in my 2 cents on this... consider the NRG's Half Hull Model. It's rather inexpensive and will give you a solid foundation for future models.
  12. This so over the top and lifelike. Incredible. Makes me think about giving up modeling and go live the life a monk in a cave.
  13. The "INS" is inches... so for example, the Head is 10 feet, 6 inches. I"m not sure what the last column is.
  14. I think the glitch in the matrix was working normally..... you lose a part, order another one along with more stuff, and then lost part suddenly shows up. Or maybe it's gremlins.....????
  15. You were there in 1918? I'm hoping that's a typo as never thought you were that old. LOL As far as Catch 22 fors, here the Wikipedia logic.... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catch-22_(logic) As I recall, it existed in Vietnam and continues even today.
  16. I'm in also, Bob. Should be not only an interesting build but a bit of drama among the lads "helping".
