Evening all, I did a bit more today - first thing I did though was to get my LED light out (only for an hour due to electric costs) I changed over my group of painted French for another group then I mixed some more darkened Blue and with my fine tip brush, I brushed over the Blue areas the put them a side to dry. The colour certainly is improving and the flat coat should do the trick when it arrives. OC.

Evening all, I have decided in the absence of any Flat Coat Lacquer, I will re paint quite a few of the French arms, (as they are standing out the most and still slightly shiny like satin) my idea is based on the French uniforms where mainly a very dark Black - Blue, and tended to vary, what I will do is to use my Matt Black and add some Matt Blue at a ratio of say Eight drops Black to Two drops Blue, that way it should come out a nice Flat darker shade of Blue and may not need top coat lacquering until I can get some more lacquer for the rest of them. OC.

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
