Thanks all.

@ Randy,

Most of the time I'll be doing 5 ratlines and then I'll be doing something else.

Otherwise I see ratlines all over Schiedam :D

The muscle only hurts when I take a deep breath or when I cough.

So I don't want to do both…..

Very difficult when you are working at the ratlines not to take a deep breath…... ;)

@ Grant,

Thanks !

I have now make a template with different colours.

Will see if it works for me.

Sjors,

Hope the colour coded template works for you (once you have your arms out of the plaster casts, the bandages off your head, and can see out of your eyes again that is). :D

Already are fine your ratlines... It seems that it works very well Grant's suggestion...

I'm afraid of that after seeing the progression in quality, you will want to redo the port side... :)

No Ferit,

I don't will do that  :D

I have 16 parts more to do…….

I should be very happy when all of those things are done.

But I find all ready the first problem.

Maybe someone can help me…….

At the bowsprit there is a platform.

On that platform there has to be deadeyes.

But how do attach the lower deadeyes.

There is no futtock stave or anything else where I can tie them up.

I posted an earlier picture, so you can see what I mean.

Ferit,

Thanks for the great pictures !

What I can see that is at the first model, they put an extra block under the bowsprit….

At the second picture they drilled holes true the bowsprit…..

Very nice idea :D  :D  :D  both ways…...

When there is no other solution I think I go for picture 2.

Again thanks, I was looking all over the internet to see if I can found something but nope….not me.

Thanks for the link !

It goes at my favourites….

Hi Sjors,

I think you'll find mate that there are a couple of cheeks that have been placed under the platform, the chains have then been attached to them, don't drill any holes in the Bowsprit yet until your absolutely sure.

Love the coloured ratlines, but I doubt you have the correct concept just now, lucky for you Anja's week of as well. :D  :D

to me,  it looks like they tied thread around the dead eyes and drilled holes through the crows nest.   thread the dead eye through the holes with a drop of glue at the base of the dead eye.   the excess  from out the bottom will tie off to the eye bolts {I think you have that right Ferit}.........these are your futtocks

Popeye,

At the bottom of the platform there is only 2 cross beams.

And they are to far back to put the rope on from the lower deadeyes.

I like the idea to put some eyebolts into the bow sprit and attach then the deadeyes.

But Mobbsie don't want that I'm drilling holes in the bowsprit…..

So, I'm still waiting till the next answer.

Comes time, comes advice. :D

I never know what to expect when I've been away for a while and then stop by your log for a look.
What do I find? Gnome infestations - possibly global, and coloured ratlines...no wonder you have chest pains! :P

Seriously though, hope you are feeling better soon. :)
The ratlines are looking terrific...keep up the good work!

People are afraid of what they don't understand. That's what leads to the fear of the unknown.

You know that you know...

And now, you are a Master of Ratlines...  :D

  • 3 weeks later...

Today I have make a few ratlines  :D  :D  :D  :D

Now I found out that the mizzenmast shrouds are extended…..

Cut and removed all the lanyards of those and when I finished the mainmast ratlines, i have to make those again  :(

Another lesson learned….don't make the shrouds in advance…...

Hi Guy's,

@ Grant,

How is Paris?

A little romantic with all those lights?

I don't like to go to work but sometimes you have to do things that you don't like…...

I'm counting the days till i have my next week off…...

@ David,

I don't want to go back to the routine of work.

Better is the routine of building  :D  :D  :D  :D

@ Jim,

I'm happy to !

This is better then feeling miserable.

I can laugh and make fun again !
