I recently (last month) read a log from someone in the Niagara region who found a Cdn wood supplier near them - I'll try to remember who it was who made the post and write back.

You could check with member Worldway who in his build log on the Mare Nostrum wrote:

I ended up dealing with an out of town wood dealer who sells small quantities of veneer.  He is going to send me 5 sq ft of Sapele and 5 sq ft of an equivalent to Ramin.

He indicated later he was happy with what he rec'd

You might try KJP Fine Hardwoods, located in Ottawa. I've never been there, but I think this is the place that a friend who does fine woodworking goes (he's happy with them.)

Visit their website to see if that is what you are looking for.

I used A & M Wood Specialty out of Cambridge. Very good results. Great to deal with, Very friendly and accommodating. However I believe they only sell veneers, about 0.5 mm thick.  Not sure about anything thicker.

They say they do custom milling, you may have to contact them about the sizes you require

I had to Google Long-Sault and see you are out by Cornwall.

I've dealt with Exotic Woods in Burlington (by Hamilton) but not mail order nor cut/milled to size.

Give them a phone call and discuss what you need.

I found the website helpful and them very helpful over the telephone... but I drove over (45 mins) and picked up what I needed.

A lot of good info here, but here is my problem.  I live in Victoria, B.C. and I notice that the majority of wood suppliers mentioned are back East.  Does anyone know of any wood suppliers in the Vancouver Island area ? Thanks.

Shortgrass,

What are you looking for?   There is a major supplier in Portland, OR  but you'll have do some processing as I don't believe they "custom" as far as planking strips, etc.

Here's their website....  https://www.gilmerwood.com/home
