Thanks Keith, actually I'm looking forward to it even though I seemed to have feared it at first, but once I got to working with the wood, I realized how much I love working with wood. So, I'm getting close, and anxious actually.

Thanks Mark, I think I'm learning about this "crew", and so far I have thoroughly enjoyed the various banter that happens here.  Trying real hard not to get splattered, and still trying to make the little pieces of wood....lol

A little more progress over the weekend.  Worked on installing the lashing rails and planked the port bulwark.  First attempt to plank, and this wasn't too bad....all straight for the most part.  Managed to bend the planks without breaking one, so I guess that's a start.  It took me a while to find where the lashing rails went in the plans and instructions.  They seemed vague, but I found them on Plan 3, Hull plan and profiles.  Learning curve going on here.  Here's a couple of pictures.  Hopefully I'll get the starboard side tonight or tomorrow.

Hello Tex, just found your site because of the Morgan.  I am building a Niagara, same scale.  Hope to do the Morgan, if I live long enough.  I see that you and I are almost exactly the same age, born in 49, July, only you popped out the chute three+ weeks ahead of me.   You are also in Willis, just north of Conroe, so I live about 1 hour 15 minutes away.  Perhaps one day I can see your build for real.  Until such time I will follow your build here on the forum.

Hello Wolf, welcome aboard.  I look forward to following your Niagra.  I am now doing my first wood ship.  Just finished the Constitution by Revell, after 44 years.  Yes, I guess we're showing our age here....lol......I'm on Lake Conroe West of Willis about 10 miles.  I'm going to be doing some extended RV'ing in the next week or so.  So I probably won't be around for about 6 months....going up north, then down to Florida to see an old Navy buddy.  Maybe we can hook up either before I leave or after I get back.  Be sure and post your build as a log, then we can follow along as you progress.  Thanks for following along,

Hi lambsbk, thanks for the kind words, yeah, it could be too early to say that, however, wood is forgiving and I like that. Need some primer and paint or filler soon.....lol

I worked with plastic for a long time before I got into wood........to me,   it's just another medium under my belt.  I like it more though because of the fact that it's easier to work with,  and give my imagination more of a work out
