Rudder is finished, "only" to mount left

And hinges will be "metalized" in something like dark bronze color, which can hadrly be seen on photos ( camera ...)

This pictures were made throught the magnifier glass .... little more details, but it is undesired playing to get right focus

Meetings and legal consultations lasts from 08:00 untill 16;00 , after that 3 hours lasting driving home with two stop places to wake up myself, finaly at home, and ... instead to go to bed, I am on MSW looking for solution how to nail hinges to stern, at the same time future rivets to look same as on rudder , and not to break anything ... and how to get/paint devil metalic dark bronze

Obviously it catched me strong

Admiral filled refrigerator to very top, and wait for me tired as ... Two Amaretto glasses helps and good movie on TW with T.Hanks as captain on large cargo ship dealing with pirates

60 people were our quests in those two loooong days in our home, and only one wanted to se Her (except me). I think this is one of most important celebration in every parent life. Kids are grown and (almost) ready to spread their own sails in ocean of life

And we are a bit older...

Only 14℃ outside with continious rain, and I am to lazy to deal with rudder.

Add

After a hour and half of stearing to something idiotic on TV, could not resist, and went down to make some tests about idea just dropped

I stole needles from Admiral forbiden sewing box and smugled them down .

With Dremel thing I resized a bit needle's head, cut 2mm under head and make it sharp (also with Dremell) and have got perfect little nail which matches perfect with holes on hinges. Then drilled by hand test hole 0,5mm, put top of this little nail in CA glue, and push it in a little hole. Just perfect.

And lesson learned: Nenad, you should think earlier, before start making hinges about how to make this little nails. Also, Nenad, you should think on time about diameter of holes. And, Nenad, you should make nails first before making hinges.

If you one day or ever start to use your brain, Nenad, if you had one, rudder could look much precise, neat and better

Start mounting rudder

Yes I know, space between rudder and stern has to be smaller, but this is out if my skills. Even work with this little nails 2mm long is horror

Hello, Bob

Next moves have their natural order

1. Finish 8 nails left on rudder
2. Correct place where rudder enters in stern and making there little rounded mask from veneer
3. Correct black color in surface between white square rail and coopered surface
4. Paint white rail
5. Correct color on water ports surface
6. Paint first and second "brown" rails
7. In mean time discover and looking for solution how to make final standing for Her,  make it and then turn Her over
8. Then tricky part - make/drill/etc etc all little parts on inside and outside parts on bulwarks
9. Then more tricky part - deadeye and nail holding rail along inside bulwarks including deadeyes and nails

That is enough for next three years before step No 10. 11. etc

10. making all deck furniture fitting and houses
11. final deck make up

That is for next three years before masting

VIVA LA PATIENCE !!!!

Seems like real life always gets in the way of the ships... Hope everything is ok with you and yours.  I'm curious to the cause of the strike;.. political? money? pecking order?

And yes, to me, 3 years for deck houses and fittings, and another 3 for masting and rigging sounds about right....

Pretty confused day mixed with homeworks, clients, kids issues, passed express, and evening comes. She called and I answered.

Her first order was : "Rudder nails first !"

And I made and mount 8 missing nails, and rudder is finished (except some coloring)

Then she said: "Look at my stern, do you think I am happy with this?"

Then I started to fine correct her stern, telling Her that She must bi patient waiting putty to dry and harden.

She answered: "OK, do not lose your and my time, give me some make up. Look how untidy I look!"

So I start with fine painting along waterline.

She is a bit wild tonight

When she finally slept, I tested my new founded method for macro shots, and on foot fingers silently run away from shipyard

But there is still enormous work to do, including rigging I don't know anything about ( rigging of Santa Maria 30 years ago was just playing comparing with my vision and inspiration I got here on MSW

Working on a white square longitudinal rail.

It is not no easy to get straight line between white and black surface. Black and white color gives maximum contrast, and mistake less than 0,5mm are very visible.

But, this is down side of white rail, invisible after rotating model, which means that it is good space to practice precise before I reach upper border beteeen white and black

After a hour and a half stearing throught magnifier, moved to the place where rudder enter into stern. There is some kind of ring there

post-4738-0-56648000-1412100975.jpg

And that is goal to make. On plans it can not be seen, but on pictures it seem that outside of rudder on that place is little rounded on outside edges, so, let us begin. Actualy, I decided to round them a bit to assume this "ring" to be small enough and in scale

:D :D

Thank you for a tip Captain. Maybe I am stuborn, but to me it seems that working with tape demands ideal lines, which are not present at all parts of Her hull, particulary by the rails. And another big question raised to me: How to put tape on a rail 1,5x1,5 mm before painting black. And if I must correct mistakes caused by above mentioned reasons, I have to apply same technique I am using now. And having in mind all this, only question of patience left.

Or I just have to discover hot water every time
