Not so good, you don’t want glue on clear plastic. Particularly CA Glue… I will have to see if I can source this clear flexible plastic. Might just leave it out, I have seen lots of these boats and they may or may not have this side glass in place.

super nice progress.........the color choice for the deck sheer really gives her that rustic look ;)    the engine looks sweet......is there to be a raised dome cover over it?   window work is sometimes a pain........the windshield can be done with a full panel to cover all three,  but sure......you can get away with just filling in the 'vent' windows,  leaving the others open.   there are many ways.......slotted frame  and slide them in before putting the roof on or create inner and outer edging to sandwich them in.   I used it in a few instances,  but Testor's makes a canopy glue for plastic models.  it dries clear.......won't help you in that situation,  but there is a chance it can be saved with water.    coming along very nice! :)

Yep… I’m doing a cover and displaying it pulled back to cover the battery box for the lighting. 😎

be careful.........your skirting very close to her not looking the work boat she ought to be  ;)    that's what I did with the first attempt on my Lobster Boat.....I added wainscoting and made her look too clean.  a little grime will put you back in the subject focus.    the engine must have come from a 1:16 firebird model kit,  AMT and MPC put one out.....the emblem makes me wanna guess :)  {nice touch BTW}.  I read through your last post and the comment on the windows.  what I do is save the clear cello packaging from products......most electronic stuff,  toys,  and household stuff comes in this type of packaging.

some of it is thin,  while some of it is a bit thicker.......I've even made use of the formed parts....curved,  cornered........for instances of the more intricate 'glass' needed.  if I want windows that don't 'need' to be see-through,  old computer floppy discs work well for this purpose.  you can even purchase auto window tinting kits that will achieve the same results.  I found mine a year or so ago,  while I was out in the field across the road,  walking Gibbs {have no idea how it got there}.  guess it's the 'pack rat' in me  ;)

Nice guess… Actually, eBay is as good as a pick-a-part junk yard. I was able to get a complete Pontiac 400 and radiator without having to buy a 1/16 Pontiac Firebird kit. 😎

Thanks for the tip on the windshield material. Just opened my new Airbrush Pump and there it is.

Enough clear plastic to fix that window… 😆

BTW… Who says it has to be a a working Lobsterman’s Boat. This guy is retired and Trapping occasionally for dinner. He will also be on the Lobster Boat Racing Circuit here in Maine. Gotta fix her up nice to live on it 6 months of the year. Just some fantasies of an old man in Maine building boats. LOL 😂

This was a lot of fun.

@popeye the sailor I can see your obsession with the Maine Lobster Boat. Very versatile boat, can be useful for everything from lobstering to yachting and racing. I see them everywhere now.

I love these Laughing Whale kits. Learned a lot about modeling. I have another Laughing Whale kit that I am about to dive into, The Bowdoin (Arctic Exploration Schooner).

See you all on the flip side. Cheers 🍻

Nice build John. Think it should list home port as Biddeford Pool Table though. I just finished a scratch built lobster boat for my daughter who lives near the NH coast and will be starting the Bluejacket Shipcrafters Bowdoin soon for my other daughter  for next Christmas, She went to Bowdoin.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look. I am currently building the Bowdoin myself.  Bought a vintage Laughing Whale kit in the Bluejacket Shop last year, up in Searsport. Using Bluejacket’s instructions.

Visited the Bowdoin Arctic Museum last week. Great college, nice campus.

Here is a link if you would like to take a look. It’s a great kit and fun build.

Cheers 🍻
