The paint would wear off the metal pretty quick in use, but wooden parts I think where just oiled or varnished. One thing about tanks and tank models, a condition of NO weathering is just as valid as the pile of wrecked junk on the battlefield, it was a true state for every single one ever built... About the weathering, beside what Egilman said, i.e. any state must have occurred in the life of a vehicle, including the state when it was new, if you want to apply oil colors or pre-prepared washes, do not forget to gloss the surfaces first with a gloss paint which must be based on a different solvent than the wash. But probably you already know that. For example, the 7.5 cm Pak 40 L/46 antitank gun and the 7.5 cm KwK 40 L/48 tank gun fired the same projectile, even though they had completely different cartridge cases. It was also the most common AP shell used in the German armies during WWII.... In the Pzgr. 39/43 of KwK and Pak 43 guns, the driving bands were made wider than those of Pzgr. 39-1 due to the longer barrels causing higher chamber pressures causing the narrow driving bands to fail... He busted out yesterday Mark on his way to Hollowman AFB in NM he stopped at Roswell this afternoon.We spent as much time together as possible when he left yesterday me trying to be a tough guy said drive safe usual BS turned to walk away he hollered grabbed my hand and hugged me.I think something started getting in my eye at that point.We both agreed it was a great visit ate out alot,fishing,Fort Pickens and finding him a truck(PIA).He got a matched Czech VZ-24 from me as a Christmas gift they all go to him when I pass.Now back to some modelling.Thks popeye the sailor, Canute, mtaylor and 4 others 7 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
