A big shame about losing all the build logs.  Can't do much but start a new log and help rebuild the community :)  This new website seems to have lots of cool features though.

I have been working on my Badger, my first wooden ship model, since November 2008.  It's been a lot of off and on time, with the birth of my daughter, various honey-dos from the Admiral and other hobbies.  I'm on the home stretch, with the standing rigging almost completed.  Next up will be adding furled sails to the yards, and finish up with the running rigging.

Thanks for reading!   :dancetl6:

I've been missing in action the past few months as my wife had twins at the end of March.  It's been a bit hectic to put it mildly, so I haven't had time to hit the shipyard recently.  Thankfully the girls are almost three months now and sleeping better, so I'm gearing up to get back to work on the Badger.

Here are some pictures of where I left off earlier this year.  Most of the standing rigging is done, and I'm about to start on adding furled sails.  I'm hoping to finish it before the end of the year as I now have the Corel Unicorn and the Amati Pegasus on my shelf.  Between kids and honey-do's, and of course being a complete novice, the build has taken me four and a half years.

Thanks Frank!  I might have to bother you in the future for tips on the sails as I get started.  I'm on Hubert's site as well, and think I have a somewhat good sense of how to proceed.

Just out of curiosity, are you planning to add flags to your Supply?  I was thinking about adding them to my Badger.

hi  Mike, no I'm not going to use any flags, I just want to finish this up. If you need some help with the sails just let me know. just for your info. I used Herbert's method he used for the furled sprit sail - Le  Boullonge.

Mike, you're Badger is looking terrific!  Curious how you made the hooks on the blocks, and whether these were what you used to rig the cannon.  Very impressive!

Hi Jason, thanks very much.  To make those hooks for the cannons, I didn't use the photoetch hooks that Norman is describing because they were too big, but instead used the brass eyelets that came with the kit (cut the eyelet out and then bent it into a hook shape).  I think this was the size in the kit:
