    Every product I have seen in person from them is outstanding. I really hope someone can get a hold of this and do a proper review of it

    Applying the fixative did make the powders "run" and kind of melt together and it gave a nice effect on the carving but might not be the thing to do on a cannon barrel

    I really like the result. When I used the powders on the carvings for the barge I covered them with some matte spray fixative afterward. Did you do that or just leave em as is?

    I definitely like seeing figures in the work. It really helps with seeing the scale

    Continuing to impress Bob, that looks really good. If you have a pause I would say go grab a Queen Anne Barge to build while you wait but they just sold out again.

    This is the problem. There are no real suppliers in this area because no one want to pay for the time to do this correctly. It is super easy to rip planks but it does take time (rip them, package them and then ship them). Everyone in this country is so used to super cheep stuff shipped same day for no cost. Wood suppliers like Syren have made the calculation that no one is willing to pay a fair price for their time. It would be super nice to get 100 strips for 5$ with no shipping and 2day delivery but it is just not worth it for the business. I bet if someone was willing to pay 5$ a strip (for a set minimum order) the calculation of time spent vs profit could possibly change a bit. I think this is the answer. The small table saws (i.e. Byrnes) have an initial cost but that one in particular will last a lifetime as it is of exceptional quality. I understand space considerations but if you can fit a basketball 🏀 somewhere in your living quarters you can fit a Byrnes saw 😄 I really don’t want this post to sound harsh. It began before but this pandemic has made the business environment very difficult if not impossible for many.

    I like the look of the repair. Wood is so forgiving it is nice to be able to quickly repair/fix errors after I attach the picture in the log the courser will be at the right side edge of the picture but will not be blinking like it does as you type. I always just hit the return button a time or two and it shows up under the picture again and can then type as normal

    I always assumed that this was the way to do it. I even saw someplace where the nut was ground down on the sides so it would not be too fat. Glenn's look really nice Yea this is definitely the way to go I haven't thought about using epoxy like this before

    Me too. In fact I have been looking at other build logs in order to get an idea how this works. I have only used cradles in the previous builds. The thought of drilling into the keel off center and splitting it gives me the heebie-jeebies or somehow having it not fully secure and then having the entire completed model levering itself off with much splinters....

    Thanks Ben. That company is about 20 min from my house and usually I can pick it up there but they said they need to ship due to the restrictions this time.
