  1. Excellent job of weathering, Grant. Your diorama will look great. I like your chalking work. 👍
  2. Detailing is coming along nicely, Rob. 👍
  3. I had a similar reaction to a pneumonia shot last year. I think part of my issue was letting one of the nurses in my doctor's office. She was a little rusty giving shots. My pharmacist is so much better, but she administers a lot more injections. Hope she recovers quickly. 🤞
  4. Rob, nice work with your Corsair.👍 I'm a big fan of bent-wing birds. EG is an excellent source and has a little experience building models. 😉
  5. The intrepid KGL rifleman versus T Rex. Talk about a B movie plot. 😁
  6. Left one looks like a green the Russian used on their radomes/antennas on certain MiGs.
  7. Nicely done, beating up those panels.
  8. The PE makes nice enhancements. Looks good. With respect to pre-painting, the Eduard PE cockpit sets use a lot of painted parts. And now they are 3D, too. Less issues for the modeler, especially waiting for some of the more esoteric paint colors, such as the Soviet era turquoise color. Keep up the good work.
  9. An Optivisor is my magnifier of choice. Looks like you have great lighting for your workspace. 👍 One question: do you cut your PE on that nice mat or do you have a harder cutting board. The brass deforms under the cutting tool and at the scales we play in, extra bends are annoying. I have a piece of marble, but I've also used tiles.
  10. Good choice. One can only stare are these fine parts so long. I built some N scale structures for a diorama and doing laser cut double hung windows was mind-numbing for the several houses I built. After 20 minutes or so, I had to get up, walk around and then pull out an HO kit to work on. Good lighting and optical magnification help, too.
  11. Nicely done, OC. Fierce looking beastie.
  12. Would an epoxy cement work? J-B Weld or similar?
  13. So far, so good on your painting. Unfortunate to clog your a/b.
  14. I just saw that technique for making eyebolts at a recent RR prototype modelers meet. The commercial one are either the wrong size you need, plastic when you need metal or simply not available. Fellow used a thin needle nose pliers with similar sized wire. The plastic sleeve acting as a crimping band is a good trick. 👍
  15. A bit of good news for your Admiral. Hope the tests can point you to the problem.
  16. Sitting on the fuel tank? What a stench. And add the castor oil they used. A wonder the fumes didn't do them in. The pilot of this crate had 25 1/2 kills. Impressive.
  17. Those WW I a/c really weren't much more than box kites. Spruce frames and canvas? I purchased the laser frames and the seat. The latticework seat looked beyond me (one of my parents wicker chairs we had out on the patio), so I opted for the seat. The MGs looked good, but I figured I needed to roll my own, since they don't need bending into a horseshoe, like the seat edge padding. 😁
  18. Thanks for that product endorsement, James. I'll pick one up next time I get more CA.
  19. I think people shy away from Gorilla, expecting the expanding foam variety. They make a very nice PVA glue which I've used from time to time. Haven't tried their CA glue. Been looking at the rubber particle filled CAs for their added strength.
  20. Number 4 in, on the right. Looking at another fine job by a master. No problem with that, right? 😁
  21. The gun bluing does exactly that, turns the metal blue. Usually it's used on steel. Birchwood Casey and Jax both make products to turn your brass black. It could take several applications of the solution to achieve the level of black you want. The vinegar is a good surface prep/cleaner for brass. For copper, you need something to accelerate the patina or turning the copper to a green shade. Not sure about what products do that.
  22. You're the superintendent of this project, with the hammer for going or stopping. I get what you're saying. Move on to something that revs your engine instead of losing time delving into the esoterica of this particular card model. We'll follow you.
  23. Interesting start to a dio, Alan. Non aggressive soldiers? Wazzat? 😉
