Good morning Mark, These major decisions are sometimes deeply reflective ones and are often difficult to make, it is in these that we learn the most about what we are doing though it seems to me. The lessons that are solved one way or another are valuable additions for the next project. The planking and the shape of the hull are looking very nice. Michael -

Absolutely beautiful work. I have a question relating to the large number of "Nails/rivets " on the inside of the cannon port doors there seem to be more than I would have thought necessary to hold the tin planks inside the outer ones? Michael -

And I have not yet finished reading the emails since getting back from the coast. Igor obviously there is not a lot of physical material involved in your work, but working at such a small scale requires extreme precision which is not something that I would think is a fast activity. Amazing so far! Michael

Hi Dan I have just caught this build, and a most enjoyable read it has been so far. Thank you for detailing all the techniques regarding the sheathing and decking. There is a great deal of merit in combining the different material disciplines for our model building, your step by step clearly articulates this. I smiled at the line that "paper is just thin wood". A great looking model that your client will no doubt be proud to share with his friends, and give you the satisfaction of creating a great model. The one thing that I have notices with raw white styrene is that over time it yellows slightly and becomes a little brittle, I am assuming that all the exposed white styrene is painted white which acts as a barrier to the UV which is the culprit for the yellowing and the brittleness. Some of the stack of styrene that I have still from my commercial building days, has suffered from this because it was not protected from the sun, that which was out of the sun is still fine after 20 years or so. Wonderful work Patrick !! now a technical question, are the roller reefing on the foresails electric or mechanical Oh right you haven't finished the rigging yet. And yes those sail's do look really good. Michael
