I don't use pins on my Pelican (see link in signature). But I found this to be a clumsy method. How it must have been correct without these pins? I don't think there is a right answer for that -
I beg your pardon, I'm afraid you have the advantage of me...

thank you for the nice comments and likes. There is still a lot of work to be done. I'm thinking of sanding and painting this part first while the hull is still a bit manageable. Well, I find building the model more difficult then expected 😉 The "holes" in the rear castle will later be covered with shields. But first i need to clean up the hobby room and paint the walls. And then probably first clean out cabinets containing approximately 1450 models...

With all frames made thinner and the last planks attached to the stern, the rough shape of the hull and rear castle is largely finished. A lot of wood chips.. And the first jar of PVA glue is empty With paint pots visible in the background, time for some freshening up of the hobby room. Current status with a cardboard fore castle

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
