  1. My last 4 "modern Russian" kits. All 4 are from ACE on a 1/72 scale We start with BREM-2, a recovery vehicle based on the BMP family. http://acemodel.com.ua/en/model/108 The box Content. As mentioned earlier, these are short run kits. Special but with some extra work... I've have this kit for years. One of the reasons I never started it, a lot of cleaning up to do And the first pieces don't cooperate from the start. But, with time and patience, a model will eventually emerge
  2. Small update. Applying the tracks. A bit of fiddling, but now they are completely applied. And the Matilde is ready
  3. Historically not. But if no one tells your uncle Jay about this, he probably won't mind this little error 😇 Normally there are 3 schrouds at the top mast, (i see only 2)
  4. While I'm working on the treenails in the hull of my Mary Rose . It's time for some variety. So now some military models. We build the 38t Hetzer Starr from Attack hobby kits. Not the most fitting and detailed model, but a somewhat exotic Hetzer. General info about the Hetzer https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hetzer And the "Starr" variant https://www.armedconflicts.com/Jagdpanzer-38-t-Starr-t12128 Box, parts and plan Building the chassis, this wasn't actually that simple, there was nothing that fits. Cleaning and drilling the wheels All is ready to apply the tracks ( Only the idler wheels could be mounted without fitting and cutting ) ( with a Airfix Matilda hegdehog almost finnished)
  5. Batavia. The curved planks on the stern are a protective layer of soft wood against shipworm. An early form of copper plating.
  6. Treenail update, The weather forecast has been the same here for several weeks : rain and occasional showers... So a lot of time to drill holes and add treenails... After all the treenails have been applied it is time to scrape and sand. Pieces of old Stanley knives are used for scraping. The original and the model (picture of the original is thanks to @firdajan) After sanding, the hull was cleaned with a wet cloth. The starboard side is ready. Wales still needs to be done, probably also with treenails, and bolts??. I sent this question to the Mary Rose museum, but no response yet Thanks for following
  7. Very, very beautiful model👍 It was nice and interesting to follow
  8. Looking at the parts and the model, still the same as it was 35 years ago when I built my first one. So you are the one who builds those beautiful machines
  9. Nice work. Originally these were Matchbox kits, http://www.matchboxkits.org/index.php?cPath=81_82
  10. To late, but. A certain Mister Furttenbach had the same problem 300 years ago. Now this drawing is an example in rigging for many 😉
  11. There is little information about colors on ships from this period. And certainly not about merchant ships. I would leave the colors as they are, looks good
