  1. I just got my kit the other day. Took about 8 days to get it from China. Amazing service! This should be a great build. Tim
  2. Cafmodel has done it again. Another great kit! Thank you guys for what you do. Wishing you and yours a Merry Christmas and a Better New Year. Also for your New Year when it comes up in February. Also, I just ordered the Kit. Thanks Tom! Tim
  3. I would not go to the 1/350 scale. I think that the 1/144 Revell kit would be a better choice. Much more detail, also there is a great after market etch kit that would give you greater detail. Yes! it will cost you more money, but worth the money well spent! Tim
  4. I strongly recommend that you go to the NRG website. At the NRG store you can order the Kit set so you can start the project. It is well worth the money. Check it out! It is well worth your time. Tim
  5. I have this kit. I hope to start it in the next few days. I am a terrible model builder and I think your new post will help greatly! Thank You, for this Tim Murphy
  6. Tom, I just received the missing parts the other day. Thank You for sending then out. Tim Murphy 0L
  7. Tom, I went through Box one on the kit. As with other people I also am missing part # E1 & E2.. Sorry to add to your woes on the great kit. Tim Murphy
  8. Clare, once you have the sails up on the mast, Druxey’s idea of the hair dryer will help. Why not some spray starch to give the sail some body. Tim
  9. Tom, I got my kit in yesterdays UPS delivery. Wow! What an amazing kit that you have supplied to us. I can not believe all the parts that make up this mailing. All the additional parts that you have supplied! Thank You for your talent in developing this kit. I hope my build will come out as nicely as you have shown us. Tim Murphy
  10. Clare, I do think that you are on the right track with the pattern of your sail construction. They definitely have the correct appearance. Great progress! Tim
  11. Pete, so sorry! You see you should have stayed in New H., and or Mass.. Today its been clear and the 70’s. Also, I would have been a closer a Teacher! Tim
  12. OYG! Another amazing build to see develop and grow into a great kit. Good luck to you! Tim Murphy Also, I can not wait to get my kit now that it’s finished.
  13. Gary, I really am hoping that we will see your model at next April’s North East Conference in New London, Conn. I would be very sad if COVID cancels this meeting again. Your ship is so well done and realistic. The wood is so well weathered and sea worned. This build is art unto its self. You have shown me so much that I hope I can use it my models. The best thing about these projects is that they are teaching tools. Thank You Tim Murphy
  14. Peter, you are greatly missed at the Newburyport club and also at the Constitution Guild. Your detail of build is unbeliveable. Tim
  15. Kirby, just came across you new half hull. Very nice! Hope to see it when we finally get together as a Club. I do have the Royal Navy take off of HMS President (USS President). The print is from Royal Museum, Greenwich. Would that be of help? Tim Murphy
  16. Clare, your making great progress on Kitamaebune. The info that you have posted gives a much clearer idea on how to rig the ship. Thanks for the info. Question, when you made the first post of this section did you have some other reference info for some out side sources? I may be wrong, but it did look interesting. Stay safe and thanks some much for your work! Tim
  17. This is a very different ship build. It looks complex but I think I would be able to do it. I would be interested in trying to build it. About two weeks ago I got your Temple build kit. Very complex ,but if I take it slowly I should be able to do this. Thank You very much for what your developing. Tim
  18. I’ve used zoo toys.jp as my source for my two Woody Joe kits. You couldn’t ask for a better distributor. They have a easy to use web page. You can change the page into English. There selling prices are in Yen and shipping is in Yen. There are apps where you can convert the price into $. I got my last order in about eight days. Check Amazon for there price, then check zootoys. Tim Murphy
  19. I’m getting ready to install the last set of planks. There not the easiest set. I fear that I will have a gap on the run. These are the two plank run in the last part of section 24. I’m not happy.
  20. Clare, I could E-mail you the kit instructions because as I have said I am work on the kit now. Let me know. Tim
  21. Mike, hope to see your model of Winchelsea at the Northeast conference. It should be there! Tim Murphy
  22. Clare, I just restarted by kit. I’m working on it when I am at the Constitution Museum as a volunteer. Your build here has a lot of great details to help me in the build. Thank’s Tim
  23. Just for your info. The copper plates that are used on the Constitution are about 14” x 39”. They are very thin and the plates are preped for nailing by using a machine that goes back to 1856. The operator puts the plate on a sliding tray uses a hand crank to pass the plate down the tray. Nails on the roller punches the plate. The copper nails used are the size of furniture brads. About 7/8’s long the head about a 1/4”. When they attach the plate to the hull they place the plate over felt paper which covers the area of the hull which will be coppered
