  1. Forecastle fence is in progress. This handmade kit originally includes those laths in following picture but i decided not to use them and i am making fence instead because i have seen a lot of Santa Maria ship model on the internet and most of them were with fence. I think it will look better.
  2. Railings are complete and in place but not glued yet because they need to be tung oiled before i glue them. BTW i had a cute visitor at my balcony yesterday Mustafa
  3. Good luck with your SoS Hennie. It's a beautiful galleon. I will be following with interest. I just want to ask that why delivery took 8 weeks? Isn't it too long? Where dit it come from? Best regards, Mustafa
  4. Ladders and captain's cabin door are ready to be inslalled but will wait a little bit more.
  5. Welcome back Vivian, it is a beautiful ship. Good luck wit her. I will be following.
  6. It looks she will be a beautiful ship when completed Anja. Good luck on this build. Mustafa
  7. Hi, does instruction manual suggest that type of lower hull planking? Santa Ana is a very beautiful galleon. In my opinion, if you tapered planks at the bow and made all planks parallel to water line she would look much nicer. I am sorry for criticism. (i assume this model has one layer of planking) Mustafa
  8. I did something on poop deck and added a few planks to the upper hull,
  9. Tung oil application on the decks. Process is like this; I apply tung oil by a paintbrush to the deck surface, to help for penetration of the oil, i sand the surface by No:1000 sandpaper and finally, i clean residue of oil by a piece of cotton fabric. I repeated this process 3 times after oil dried. Result was very nice, i got a quite smooth surface and a natural look. Tung oil is a good wood protector also.
