  1. I make my own with both sand paper and Emory . That way i can decide on the size and shape i need. I use old scraps of flat wood, Dowling and curved wood. Paul
  2. Good words Michael, Great way to get across how good this forum is. good to see you are going to continue Bryan, looking forward to seeing your build log. Paul
  3. Hi Techsan, I think your build looks very good. Don't start pulling apart and end up regretting it. Continue building. I would like to here your backstory. Good luck with whatever decision you chose. Paul
  4. Welcome aboard Vic, Paul
  5. Hi Don, I am building the 1/84 kit of this ship. As Kevin says lots of good pics with a google search. If you have the same poster that came with mine the colour scheme has a white bottomed hull. I believe at one time this was correct, but she now has a black hull with two white strips which are representative of what would have been the cannon bands where she a war ship. The instructions i have say to paint the top band gold, but it is actually yellow ochre. This paint scheme IE: white, black and yellow ochre seems to be prevalent through most of the ship with a lot of brass showing. Paul
  6. Just as I thought the you couldn't do a better job than the tram I find this brilliant build log. Fantastic work. Paul
  7. Brilliant job. Saw the first photo and thought it was a taster of the real tram with model photos to follow. The close up looks so real. Paul
  8. Have very pleasant weekend as well Alain. Welcome to the forum, you will get on with us all here. Great kit HMS AGAMEMNON, will you start a build log for us to follow? Paul
  9. Looking great Danny, Looking through your log and the build areas when you took it apart and rebuilt you've done a super job. Have to double take when looking at your build to realise it is a card model. Paul
  10. Messis, Yes unless it is in a display case it would patina over time I would imagine. This would defiantly make it more natural rather than forcing it. Paul
  11. great job Messis, At the scale you are working the copper is not taking up too much of the hull. So your plan not to patina is a good one. Paul
  12. Absolutely unbelievable details on such a small model. Can't wait to see how you are going to make the grew figures !!! She has to have a crew Paul
  13. Hello Jonk, Paul
  14. Welcome aboard Louie, As EJ says try not to compare with other builds. Take a look at mine, A top class builder would find lots of faults. Especially the square ports. Not the neatest job around but they look good enough at this scale. Build for yourself as i do. A build log would be good we can see what you are doing and give any advice you may need. When i get stuck on a section, which i did a few times building the hull i move to another part of the build i know won't give me too much trouble. I then check out other builds read and reread the instructions until it suddenly comes to me what i need to do. Good luck with your build and hope to see a few pictures soon. Paul
  15. Hi Messis, Great job on the coppering. Are you going to patina it?. The hull looks very good. Paul
  16. Welcome aboard Jeff. Paul
  17. You should be fine with a bit of elbow grease. The hull at least looks like it is running true. Good work with the bulb. I did the same only i used wood filer not fibreglass putty. But i have filled and sanded back twice before being happy with the finish. Paul
  18. welcome to MSW Andre. Paul
  19. Welcome aboard Cedric.
  20. Will watch with interest. I do like the way you give yourself more work with the PE. Of course it will look great when done. Looking good so far. I also can't believe how fast you work with the PE. I've just added a few of the smaller fittings to my model and that took me the day to do!!
