  1. If you clear-coat the model, it will cover the color variation pretty well. It worked well with my Solferino.
  2. Working on the ladders: Work is going really slowly on them. Even on normal sized models, ladders are difficult for me. But at 1/200 scale, they are a royal pain. We all have one fitting that we don’t like. Ladders are that fitting for me.
  3. Sorry, Bill, I read through your log that day, liking the posts as I went.
  4. Looking good! Looking forward to seeing the figurehead! There’s an Intro to Carving Group here that was a fantastic resource for me!
  5. Rest your wrist and hand on a sponge and use a 000 brush. I bought the Qualrite set of detail brushes (note: these are artist’s brushes and not model brushes) off of Amazon and they have worked amazingly well for miniatures. The 000 brush works great for insignia at 28mm scale. The sponge soaks up the vibration from your wrist. Given the choice, I would prefer to put my wrist down on something solid to ground it out, but with where you’re trying to work, the sponge would inflict less damage.
  6. Very impressive collection! Excellent work!
