  1. Welcome RA, as Mark (mtaylor) said the group projects are a fine place to start a scratch or semi scratch build, Winchelsea being one, with the option to buy laser cut parts or attempt to make them yourself. Vanguard Models (MSW sponsor) here in the UK have got great kits and Chris Watton is also a member here. Whatever you choose to build, enjoy yourself. 😉
  2. Good evening, I've completed another band of planking on the port side, and started the corresponding band on the starboard. Also I had to rip some more 1/4" strips these ones are my best to date, I think by the time I've done with planking the hull I'll be making some half decent strips😊 Thanks for looking in and the likes. I'll post some more photos when I've got a bit more to show. Cheers
  3. Well summer seems to be over, rain a cold weather for the last few days, so in-between planking Winchelsea I have been doing little bits on this Gluing the hinge parts of the wings, and making up the landing gear. I will be getting back to the cockpit in the next couple of weeks. Thanks for popping by and the likes😉 Cheers
  4. I'm in for this, just caught up to date, you guys come up with some great info!
  5. It will be good to see you back with this one!
  6. It's worth noting again that your figure painting is nothing less than amazing. Imho I think the airbrush has made the final flat coat even better being able to get a thinner even coverage than brushing . Outstanding job.😉
  7. Excellent work on the gun carriage, it looks superb 🙂
  8. Just catching up and....😮😯😲😳 Incredible modelling Gary!
  9. Thank you Kevin, a lot of what I'm doing is all down to Chuck's fine and detailed instructions. Glad to have you aboard 😀 Cheers
  10. Oh yeah, I remember those, and how big the armies you could make with them, hundreds of troops! That little hard plastic farm was a decent kit. It's quite easy to get hold of on fleabay, for a price!
  11. It's like painting rediscovered, using an airbrush, makes priming quicker and also allows you to do things that with a brush could be frustrating or downright impossible. They are looking good, I'm amazed at the realism you're getting with your figure painting.
  12. Thank you Fred, I've been following your Winnie 2, I never noticed the 'winging it' bit. It does however look very good. Thanks for stopping by 👍
  13. After a hectic few months of work, sorting all the summer yard chores and a holiday away from it all, I'm finally back on Winnie, continuing with the planking. I relaid the planks at the stern/counter transition, I'm happier with the result. The hull has been re-lined for the remaining planking bands and the first one has been shaped to fit. Thanks for your patience through the summer and the likes and comments. Cheers
  14. Yes, I imagine it was a tad quicker and cleaner than a fork and barrow!
  15. I think most farms of the period had a muck pile in the farmyard, although at the time of the day OC is setting this it would have been trampled to a slurry across the yard🙃.
  16. Excellent uniform details! Great figure painting Craig, very good for a relative figure novice 😉😇 A nice wedge of applewood smoked cheddar and Stilton blue😋
  17. I think that was the norm on late 30s early 40s cars! I mean even the sixties Mini was a tight fit😁
  18. Really nice smooth paintwork Craig, the figures can only enhance an already great build! I also thought the same! Shame to waste good H/E rounds on them when the MGs would have been sufficient!
  19. Nice job with your airbrush on the primer! The figures on the firing steps look fantastic, a taste of what's to come! Keep on with the great work OC😉
