Today I entered the realm of PE and I'm so glad its at 1:32 as even at this scale it's tiny! The seat belt is trying me🤯 but of the dozen or so parts fitted only one has took flight, ok its jumped out the tweezers 3 times, found twice, but last reported somewhere among the other MIA bits and bobs😠😤😫. So things have been put away and a full scale search and rescue is on the cards. Photos and more progress in the next update. Thanks to all for bearing with me😉 Cheers

Thanks to everyone who clicked or commented. The aries cockpit was delivered today 🙂🙃 this will be my first foray into aftermarket add ons. It's also a first for PE as well. I'll probably be a bit slow putting this together, and there'll be a bit of alterations to the kit fuselage to get it to fit as can be seen on the box it is primarily for the Trumpeter kit of this plane 😬 Cheers

Are you still planning to have a Borlase Warren figure? I got quite excited as he was born just five miles from where I live and is quite a celebrated fella in Nottingham, England

I picked this up just before our second lockdown. Being a plane from the WW2 Pacific Campaign I couldn't resist. I'm doing it straight out of the box, with no aftermarket. So far I've only just began painting the parts that can be done whilst still on the sprues. I'll get some photos when I start gluing it together.

Very nice work Justin, doing the deck in situ is a bit more awkward but ensures a near perfect fit, building off the model is easier but can give fit problems. I did my lower deck off the model and ended slightly small (0.5mm or so). Both have their pros and cons. When all is said and done, it is your preference for your build. Whatever you choose to do, I'm sure it will be of an excellent standard as your work upto now😉

Thanks Matt. Hello again, Small setback with the port side first belt, the transition to the stern counter did not look great, in fact it was an eyesore, some very unsightly bad cutting and gaps. The 5 offending planks have been removed, I would like to have it at least looking the same or similar to the starboard. As many have said, the second attempt often goes better. Thanks for looking in. Cheers 🙂

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
