  1. Do you have a VPN? If so, set it to the Netherlands and search, it sounds odd, but you will find a different set of sites for the same search criteria!
  2. I would have expected more archaic design as ornamentation on these ships. Can't say you didn't use your imagination ... frightful fellah you selected
  3. Lovely detailed work on your kitchen ... I'm afraid you'll turn in hungry after finishing such a large pot ...
  4. "I have done a bit of pondering over the last several weeks" looks more like months. It has been reather silent, Dick. With regards to your masting problem: If you feel the evidence is thus, limit yourself to a single mast, or if you have multiple installed, pretend it's from a later aera ...
  5. Scott, you'd better start lookin' on ebay like: 20mm flak PE 1/200 or bismarck 2mm flak PE 1/200, etc, etc e.g. this one unfortunately 1/48 but you'll get my drift
  6. Very impressive. Certainly a ship which lends itself for this kind of illumination. Can't wait to see more of your updates ...
  7. I know you can't, but when you know the colour code from lifeColor, you can get the corresponding colour from the chart. I've got a another chart somewhere which gives the mixtures for certain colours, but haven't found it yet
  8. You might find this link to german colours interesting For the USS MIssouri here and these you can translate with this Vallejo Conversion Chart.pdf
  9. A little touch up and she ready to rock 'n roll mate. You'll have her ship shape in no time
  10. For Tamiya I use 1:1 paint:thinner On Vallejo Air I use it straight from the flask, the others 2:1 1:1 paint:thinner ratio, it depends how it works out I have used 1:2 ratio for it's primer. It just depends on the weather/humidity temp, etc. It isn't an exact science you might say. I had to store my airbrush and paints, as night frosts are cooling the attic, and spraying gets rather difficult whit frozen paint
  11. "Took way longer than I thought to paint this." That's what they all say... You have a very nice finish on those items, and I have to say your railings look very sharp!! The mast doesn't look bad at all, that is to say the rungs stand out quite well
  12. Thanks, when I get my wood I'll let you know. She starts to look awefully good Mike
  13. That's a tricky one ... it's IJN, so I would go for Hinoki, but cypress is soft so that would make it teak, else I would have a choice at oak or teak (depending on the year of construction)
  14. Found me a drawing, can you tell me if it is close enough ... What I've seen for Sopwith Camle planes, this would be a fitting prop ... well, actually half a prop sizes based on your given length total lengt 17cm max width 1.4cm (I can bring it down to your 1cm) max thickness 0.94cm seven layers : each layer 0.13xxcm I'll have to order some wood, as the stock I've got left doesn't meet the requirements
  15. No elevation ...??? I was so looking forward to that ... a real pitty ... Taking the planks off ...?
  16. Nah ... a gift would be more appropriate. Maybe just postage. It's a hobby, what's a bit of distraction time and wood between modeller mates
  17. I'll have a go at it, and shall let you know if I get as frustrated as you
  18. How's your treenail sharpener holding up Nice contrast with the deck.
