  1. SHE'S A LIVE!!! ... Well ... oke, she's coming a live pritty darn well. Looking good sailor!
  2. Mark, You have your work layed out for you ... again ... Like the ebony contrast you are going to use.
  3. longer hinges so it comes off the deck!!! That's it. Some lovely pictures Piet. They are large suckers those firecrackers... You just realise how big they are when you see someone standing along side it. These mines will give a nice pop exploding ...
  4. Piet, The way you want you hinges to work is impossible, because you would force the lower part of the lid into the deck. You could, however, mount the hinges nearly flush with the deck, slightly protruding at the top. Made a little drawing to enlighten my text ...
  5. midnight oiling ... have done enough of that ... 163 hrs/week ... no thanks ... been there
  6. For litharge (lead oxide) have a look here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Litharge couldn't stand 'not knowing'
  7. The robbins here don't have it even half as hard as you over there. No snow shov'lin' mate. I merely push the rain to the side Nice work on the door, though I would have expected one which opens to the outside ... On the other hand, John has gotta point too ... Difficult all those dillemas ... Mind bogglin' if not kripp'lin'. Ah well, these kind-a probs are in good 'ands!
  8. Piet, Go to your profile and look at your current signature. Just add this build log in the same way ... Often it can be done by just symply copy/paste actions. Probably best get the internet address (link) first, and then alter your dashing signature Tie a yellow ribbon .................
  9. I polished the edge of my chisels with a sharpening stone for skates ... It has two sides: One for sharpening and the other one very fine for polishing. Use the stone to sharpen my kitchen knives too ... Does that tell something about me ...??? I sharpen the chisels on a rotating sharpening stone (machine), and finish it off by hand. You have to watch out giving too much pressure on the wood, as you may end up with a wobbly yard in your case. The flexibility and thickness of the piece you are turning needs to be considered. The thinner the easier it will bend. You could tackle very thin pieces with sandpaper ... You just loop it around the wood ... N.b. A course grid will leave you with wounderful grooves
  10. Grant try: supercalifragilisticexpialidocious Remco: Nice, very very nice. I like Jigsaw puzzles, does it come in a 1000 pieces version too?
  11. Would expect to be sufficient, i.e. 3 days drying ... Still, if it's cold and/or humid it could take a while, quality of the paint can play a major factor ... I've had a laquer which took 4 days to dry ... couldn't find the reason why though ...
  12. Couldn't expect anything else but high standard after the O19! Still marvelous little lobster smack with great details. You were saying ... fiddling here and there ...hmmm ... I know your fiddling, so does Gwen ... O19 ... dinghy v 1.0 => v 2.0 ... life raft ... lobster cages ... buckets ...
  13. Nice work! Your nearly good to go. Looking forward to the results. Get your chisels sharp
