  1. Looking good Jason, you have your work cut out for you. You might drop a glance at Jack Aubrey's (http://modelshipworld.com/index.php/topic/7795-brick-de-24-by-jackaubrey-148-scale/) build the way he planked his initial layer
  2. I have to agree on the white. However, why didn't you use hemp-colour (yellowish). Although I'm no expert, a bit of contrast wouldn't be that bad. Now it might turn out hardly visible.
  3. Can you still glue the guncarriages to the deck after your treatment with lineseedoil ...?
  4. Mark, That hiney really looks horrendous! I'm glad you're the only one who thinks so. It seems Hahn's plans leave somewhat to be desired ... with his "modeler's fittings and finishes" So far you've made some good fits (and finishings)
  5. It's a one euro cent piece shown as reference, is it not ... which makes the difference between those hooks - but for colour - hardly visible!!! Talking about 'eye for detail' ... stunning
  6. Danny, A very nice fiddly job well executed. Now I know what some writers refer to in some novels (Pope, Kent/Reeman)
  7. Michael, I would say you belong those who make real fine, precise, and (very) tiny work (besides the lage scaleyou do splendidly to). It looks magnificent, and I for one would love to hold it in the palm of my hand, just to relish in the workmanship!
  8. Jack, The card is very distinct, maybe a bit to. However, the soft graphite is hardly visible. Perhaps you could use a card which is less black more like hard coal (dark greyish)
  9. New keyboard and mouse!!! Hmmm ... with or without tangled/tangling cords ... We have some other festivities first before setting up the green monster. Enjoy your non-sticky keys and silky scrolling mouse
  10. Ah, Michael, You could have fooled me Nevertheless, practice makes perfect ... It still looks awfully good to my laymans eyes
  11. Thanks for the preview Michael. Looks huge though ... Bedford, I presume you are right about that. Considering the weight of the crankshaft ... it will not have too much of an impact as you predict
  12. Michael, How much problems will ballancing the crankshaft give you. Like this I would expect a lot of vibrations on it

  14. Piet (and Gwen ofcourse), Thanks for the good wishes! Hope you have had a wounderful Thanksgiving For planking you could turn her over and glue her (no not Gwen) ribs to a piece of wood, and 'cut' her loose after finishing planking. That would give you a more sturdy frame to plank on
  15. Johann, Ausgezeichnet, wunderbar. Some stunning looking detail you've produced. It renders me speechless ...
  16. Adrieke, Knowing your resolve, I can't imagine you not managing that curved bow part ... You seem to thrive on challenges as with the King of Mississippi
