  1. This is to sincerely thank - Steve - Keith - Rob - Grant - John - Daddyrabbit - Hartmut - Mark - Patrick - Greg, ....... I am simply overwhelmed with so much appreciation and compliments and am pleased the model (even if not completed yet) is so much liked Steve, thanks for following on regularly, glad you like it.... Keith, as she is laying alongside of the fitting out quay, nows the time for adding many details that were going round in my mind.... Rob, if they wish, MSW members can book a free first ride... Grant, thanks for your kind words... John, there shall be lots of small detail adding, the command bridge shall be a bit tricky, as well as the ships boats Daddyrabbit, I`m quite pleased she worked out meeting my own approval in that scale (I had some doubts in the beginning) Hartmut, thanks for your kind compliment... Mark, nice words, much appreciated, many thanks to you.. Patrick, thanks so much for your nice words... Greg, thanks for following the build and your kind compliments along with the progress... Nils
  2. Thank you very much Greg and Ed, for your kind compliments, much appreciated... Greg, I think there will still be quite some updates to come, but thanks for your words Ed, I`m very pleased that you like it, and would like to return my admiration for your lovely "Young America" clipper build Also thanks to all the "likes" for clicking the button... Nils
  3. Update Build log part 54 railing has been added to the mid ship platform, and funnel 3 + 4 understructures have the lights fitted. Also all vents and gratings fitted. The upper platform is supported from the lower deck at both outer sides. These supports fit between two davits in order to enable their swing function... Nils foreground (bottom, left) are the boats winches The command bridge area now requires some attention I`m pleased with the progress, its not so very far more to go... the model is comprising 86 vents in different sizes must be thousands of "rivets" holding the plates together... one of the deck-crew taking a rest on the aft anchorchain gear deck curvature can be noticed here...
  4. Very nicely built model of the "Victory" Steve also sails and casing look beautiful, well done !! Nils
  5. Hello Hatrmut, beautiful carvings on your Statenjacht, I like the colors,... looks like in the background the "Gorch Fock" is already being prepared for.... Nils
  6. Congratulaions Patrick ! what a detailed, luxurious cruiser-jacht, never seen a modeler putting so much lovely fitting-out to the interior of his model..... Well done !! Nils
  7. beautiful Work Michael, those jigs and fixtures for clamping and holding down are very professional looking. The davit devices look fantastic ! Nils
  8. Hi Greg, thanks for your nice compliment...., yes , several hundred tons of coal per day fed into the boiler`s furnaces sure did leave some enough soot in the exhaust gasses of the funnels... Nils
  9. Hi Rob, with ref. to the ladders (brass, only 3,3 mm wide), the credit goes to Aeronautic model fittings, article AE574002. I used these several years ago on my "Heinrich Kayser" funnels and fortunately still had "leftovers" in sufficient quantity Nils
  10. small update... funnels are complete, painted and eyelets for the 10 guy wires /per funnel attached. Two of the base structures still require the lighting windows on the beveled sides. the resin based buff color for funnels and vents is of "Glasurit", semigloss, called desert sand (Wüstensand) Nils
