Update
All frames cut out and (dry-fit) mounted with keel bow and stern parts. Nothing is glued together yet.
The stringer liners and the pine-planks can be ordered now. For planking I intend to do it with 1,5x8 and 1,5x10 mm planks. The stringers will be 2x3mm
Nils
frames kept down to the base board with clamps. Note the reinforcement squarebar 13x13mm, this gives a strong hold
all 16 frames set up

Update
Today it starts with sawdust making.
The base construction plate was used fro the "Ergenstrasse", sanded over and fitted with frame-spaced little squarebar pieces that were glued on in place.
The keel with bow and sternpost ist cut out and glued together, also the reinforcement 13x13 mm squarebar with pushed in counter-nuts. ( for take up of the stand spindle later on ) is made and ready for assembly.
The "raw frames" are cut out from the 4mm ply sheet in order to have more handable "tiles". Then holes were dilled, in to the outcut spaces of every frame.
Now the 16 single frame contours are carefully cut out, tile by tile in the good old hand jigsaw manner. I can imagine that those who are assemling kits comprizing laser cut frames are smiling here, but this is scratch-build
Nils
the shipyard build base with spacer lugs. This one is from former "Ergenstrasse"build, sanded over and equipped with new distance lugs. the frame spaces are taken from the sideview lines / frame plan
the reinforcement squarebar with pressed in counter-nuts
the lines for stringers were added on the frame plan
frame-outlines on transparent paper, with drawn in notches for the stringers later on
here the keel with glued on bow and stern. The cut outs take up the frames during assembly
rough cut 16 "tiles" for better handling

Post One Hundred and fifty
Completing the ports
The two enclosed Qtr deck ports remained to be done.
Usual top hinged lids into the Great cabin, and a pair of side opening doors into the Coach and Bed space.
3660
I thought I had done with queries about ports, but I’m not entirely convinced why side opening doors are shown in the position they are, constrained by Mizen chains which only allow them to open half way.
They are a feature usually found in positions above the channels, or at the foremost bow port, where space is restricted.
2231
This shot onboard Victory taken when I blagged my way onto the Poop deck shows similar doors in place.
The photo also has other interesting features. Note the tube thro’ which the port lid lanyard goes inboard, and that the port only has one lanyard presumably due it being of lightweight construction over a Qtr deck cabin.
The final interesting feature for detail fans is the knot secured on the Mizen channel.
This is the reason at the time I wanted to look over the Poop.
The knot secures the Rudder pendant which attaches to the chains and is used to control the rudder should the tiller lines be shot away.
Back to INDY..
Notwithstanding the above, the side doors do make a nice feature and provide additional interest to the build, more so if displayed closed.
1901a
I used a normal port lid as it makes more sense to me.
Stern Ports
There are two stern ports engraved on the lower counter, the plans show use of provided hinges (PE47) over the patterns, but I didn’t seem to have sufficient to do this, but the Laser board Syren straps filled in nicely.
3794
This is not a very prominent area of the model but that is no reason not to enhance it.
3796
Addition of double lift rings and lanyards complete the effect.
3800
The trickiest part is securing the lanyards thro’ the lifting rings using a false splice.
3799
Getting the needle thro’ the 0.3mm line is a severe test of my aging eyesight.
1900a
Still lot to do on this build.

Mirabell61 reacted to Siggi52 in HMS Tiger 1747 by Siggi52 - 1:48 - 60 gun ship from NMM plans
Hello, and many thanks for your likes and comments
Ian, I would be lucky if there where no sanding or glue marks But at least, now the last are gone
Marc, with the symmetry it's such a thing. Because I had no real experience with this way to build a model, I chose a too thin plywood. So the starboard side is some millimetres broader then the port side of the ship. But you would't notice it without a ruler.
Here a picture with all 12 pounders in place, but now not permanently. Notice also my efforts to make the walls of the QD symmetrical.
As long as the oil has to dry, I'm looking how to set up the cabins. At the sheer plan the first bulwark begins 1m behind the wheels. At the floor plan directly behind them. That may also be a mistake in the sheer plan, or there where some cabins like at the model of the Centurion? The wheels here are behind the mizzen mast. And is there a cabin for at least the master? I looked at the pictures of models and plans from that period. They are all different. Even from plan to model I prefer the way they did it at the Medway. That correspondent with the way they did it at the 60 gunner model I saw at Chatham. And I think that it will work, when the bed place for the captain is at least 2 m broad.

Interesting on the descriptions, Craig. Language, especially English isn't static, meaning change over time and sometime a word can have several definitions that are not compatable. I think you're spot on with your take of the meaning.
