  1. And this is what it looked like today shees, I punched a hole with the back end of my 10 blade as I was applying pressure to the planks bang right though. Well at least I can fix it . This is such a fun build, I am having way to much fun.lol Anyway it going good despite the set back.Talk soon Bob M.
  2. . The decks turned out great, the reason I had to redo them was because I used this marker for the planks it bleed though the sealer ugly mess. So I moved on to the hull planking. The new plank bender works really well. It so nice to bend the planks to the right shape before glueing them. The planks should just stick on but as soon as you glue it you feel like a surgeon asking for more clamps, more clamps, Lol 😆 Planking POB,is not all that bad I was worried about it. But it is preceding nicely, soon I will be below the paint line so mistakes can be covered lol. You wonder why you paint this nice wood when finished but I understand it is because of some worm that ate the wood, Number one reason for painting Protection!!! Well this is were I am at now so post when I get to the keel lol . Thanks for the likes and help !!!!! Bob M.
  3. Well yesterday I stain the deck today I scraped it off. Lol But I think it turn out ok Also I threw a bunch of Gorilla glue on the stren but it cleaned up well too ,, lol

  8. Well today is box opening day, I have peeked a few times thought. Lol. I chose this Amati Mayflower model because of wood work and overall look. Many of the Mayflowers I looked at are Mayflower ll, they seem to have a lot of colours on them, for me its a bit too flashy for my likes. I dont see any other Amati Mayflowers logs so this will be my attempt to build one. It is so good to know if I run into any problems MSW will have the answers, slowly and I mean slowly getting to know my computer and how it work here on MSW.. Thanks ever so much !!!!!! Well got to go set things up for the build wish me luck lol ,one thing I noticed was that there was two bags full of dead eyes LOL the fun never stops . This hobby is so much fun ,does everyone get excited on box opening day then build days then finishing day, then NEW kit day lol 😆 Again thanks MSW for steering me in the right direction so glad to be a small part, see you buddy's got ships to build
  9. So I will see you next year for the completion of the Pinta. Look what's on the bench lol time to start a new log. Stay safe my friends
  10. Ahoy, continuing with the rigging seizing. It started off pretty rocky but found a log of the Sphinx that showed a different way to do it. It seemed easier for me so I did it that way ,I think it turned out ok for my first attempt. I measured a couple of times, the glued them . After I made all twelve shrouds and attached them, I went on to make the sails.
  11. Bonjour, I don't know but someone will tell you soon. But this is the Place to be.
  12. Well today I went to the old barn and found some mohogany from an old room divider we had. There is about 4 pieces that are 1x6 and 10 feet long, 4 eight footers and some others. I reached in, grabbed one and cut it to the length I wanted. Then sanded them roughly and put two away for the Nina and Mayflower. Then I picked one and finished it, it's a bit light in color but It Will Do . Then mounted it to the Pinta and hung it up to dry. Now that's done back to rigging lol . Having so much fun, learning lots Frist time I ever used a router....not bad lol. Well that's it, talk soon I am sure Lol
  13. Ahoy, I made two dead eyes and attached them ,seizing needs works but coming along. I have 5 left to do on the practice side .
