Thank you to Greg as well.
Very similar technique. I think this must be the way to do it.
One other way I thought might work is most people have all their build logs in their signature and can find them from there. This doesn’t always work as there’s still a lot of people who don’t have this or it’s not up to date.

Yeah I would’ve used brass but I didn’t have any on hand. Although I do have bluing liquid and it works better on steel.

Sorry I edited the post from bulwarks to bulkheads. I got them mixed up. What will you be using for the bulkhead frames?

I want to know if it’s possible to view a profiles builds in a list. I know you can view all their posts but is there a way to see all there builds?
-
What wood will you be using for the bulkheads? Or will you use ply or mdf?

I took this from another discussion on tiller rigging, thanks @Dr PR

I finished all the yards except the bowsprit yard. The main yards are an improvement over the fore yards I did first with a better overall quality.
Some things I’ve changed:
I’ve listened to you Ferrus and changed the belaying point for the boom lift, it can now swing freely without fouling.
I’ve added proper cleats for the davit lifts and made hanks. Should I keep the loops on the deck or hang them on the cleat?
As you can see I’ve broke the tiller off as I was never fully happy with the shape so I’ll redo that.
Tomorrow I’ll be doing lots of yard rigging.
Not sure why the photos are so bad, once I post them to the site they go blurry. 🤔 -
Such clean work, looks very nice.
Excuse me if this has been mentioned, but is this the cord that’s included in the kit?
I’m looking at purchasing a kit by Vanguard.

You should definitely do sails, which are not mentioned in the instructions.
I have thought about sails. I’ve decided I’m not going to use them, as I personally like model ships without them.

I’m sure I’ll learn a thing or two.

Thank you Ferrus,
the diagrams you’ve showed me look very similar to what mine is supposed to look like.
I’ll show you the other pages one of these days.

Fantastic build!! Can't wait to see your next one. Have you given any thought to what it might be? Hopefully, this will not be a solo venture. You have too much talent. I, too, hate walnut, and have been using cherry on my last few builds. That would you use in your next build if you could choose?
Have fun!
Thank you!
I’m not too sure on what my next build would be, I like the look of the Soleil Royale by Mantua or something similar.
One of the main reasons I chose the Perseverance was because it included the DVDs and beginner friendly instructions. For my next one I’ll be more free to choose as I’ll know what I’m looking for and won’t have to constrain to certain things that I thought I needed.
I also didn’t know about the Modellers ship world forum before I started.

Thank you Ferrus.
Are you talking about the lines belayed at the cleats?

I added my follow.
even at 1:200 scale it’s still a large model. Goes to show how much of a behemoth these battleships are.

Congrats on the completion of the model!
I bet you’d be a bit sad giving away something you’ve spent so much time on.

Merry Christmas and a happy new year. 🎅🎄
I had no idea you were working on this model but it looks very nice.

Nice blocks! What size fiddle blocks did you use for the backstays?
