Hello Garward, There's not much to say about your craftsmanship then just awesome. Take care, Anja -
Hello Frank, Great to see you're back on track. The furled sails look great. Well, done. Now you can have a little rest, sit back and have a coffee or a drink and admire your work. We do! But after that ..... It's back to the shipyard. Great job Frank! Take care, Anja

Hello Remco, Thanks for the PDF's link. But on the Mac as well ason the IPad a lot of pictures aren't visible. Just a blank field. When I tried to open the PDF's on the Mac, Adobe gave the following message: Kan het ingesloten font 'PBFYFA+Verdana' niet uitnemen. Sommige tekens worden mogelijk niet weergegeven of worden niet goed afgedrukt. Translation below. (Can not remove the embedded font 'PBFYFA + Verdana". Some characters may not be displayed or will not be printed correctly.) Maybe it's the Mac (iOS) or our version of Adobe. I'm curious if it works on a Windows PC. Take care, Anja

Hello Wayne, Ms. Anja? I'm flattered! But please, it's just Anja for friends. Thanks for the good word and the compliment. It is most appreciated. We will both get there Wayne, don't worry. With every new build we learn. From ourselves and from others. Please do look into the Half Moon, she is indeed a beautiful ship. By the way, where is Brett? Tell him I said hello. Will he sign in again too? Has he made any progress yet? Thanks for stopping by and take care, Anja

Hello Wim, Thank you for the good word. And for you also a welcome back. I saw you already started posting your log of your Creole Queen. Great! Looking forward to it. Take care, Anja

Hello Mark, Sorry, I didn't know that. But you are right. I think that's a good rule. It must not get confusing. So thanks for popping in. @ RMS, Because you started this topic, will you please add this rule to your first post? Thank you. Or shall we start over? Take care, Anja

Thank you Cap'n'Bob, Rosmarie & Aldo for your kind words and the compliments. It is most appreciated. @ Bob, Thank you for the welcome back. It's good ro see you've made it back too. I'm sure you will soon find your way around the site again. But everything is new now and there are so many builds and topics to go through. @ Rosmarie, Very nice to meet you and a warm welcome to my buildlog. You are so right. There are many beautiful and new builds here to find. Some of them seem like complete tutorials, just wonderful. I see you are building the Victory. Also a very beautiful ship. Will visit the shipyard soon. @ Aldo, It was my pleasure sharing the reference pictures again. It's still going very slow. I wish I could spend more time with the build. A lot of things happening at work with the outsourcing to Sodexo right now. Have to prepare myself for the individual introductory meetings with sodexo in March and the individual talks about agreements/arrangements. It's a bit stressful, but I get to keep my job, so that's a big plus. Everything ok with you at work? I hope so. Anyway, I'm glad you made it back to the shipyard. Thanks again for looking in and take care, Anja

Hello Frank, Thank you for the compliment No, don't worry, we're not competing against each other. But it's almost impossible to do the posting on my IPad, it simple doesn't have all the features. And our current laptop is old and worn. Luckily the new bosses aren't going to eliminate people. Anyone who is employed by Unilever, will be employed by Sodexo under the same conditions. So, that's a big plus. Thanks for looking in and take care, Anja

Good for you RMS, Well, they don't stand in line for this topic. Who's next? Anja

Hello Alex, Yes there are a lot of Dutch builders, or where they here before, but we didn't notice it? Didn't had a chance to comment on your Half Moon yet, because the site went down. But you have made her into a beauty and she's almost finished. I want to alter the bow as well, but what I had in mind is probably not an option. I will see what my options are after I finish the second planking. Thanks for looking in and take care, Anja

Hello Jan, Just returned from a sidetrip to look at your buildlog. You've made sketches to put in the last planks using stealers or drop planks. They look great. If I'm correct, you made those on your PC? What kind of program did you use? We have an Apple PC, but haven't found the correct software yet to be able to do these things. Your Wasa is looking great. I look forward to your progress. PS - Thanks for he link to your website. The diorama looks great, it will maybe even look greater if the Wasa is moored there. Take care, Anja

Thank you Augie, Thank you You are truly a gentleman. But don't contribute anything to buy Sjors his own PC. I give hime ours. I promised myself a new laptop for my birthday and Christmas gift this year. So it will all come good. Take care, Anja

All, The build continues, and as promised, a small update. Here is where I am today. Finished second planking on the portside. Glued the ornamental strips (inlay board and sky-blue lime board). I wasn't planning to use the inlay board and sky-blue lime board, but I don't have any matching wood left anymore. But it looks ok. Still have to finish the rough edges. I also made a start with the second planking on the starboard side. Enjoy and thank you for watching. Take care, Anja

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
