Transoms coming along nicely - one more to go. I'll need to put in a couple of filling pieces below the transoms and then I can get on with some more fairing up and prepare to build the stern. John

Thanks, Steven. It all lined up satisfactorily when I was doing it, but I'll double check when I go in on Monday. John

Meanwhile, back at the model ………. The stern after the aftermost frame was ripped out, leaving a mess on the sternpost and glue matted shallow frame rebates. The sternpost was cleaned up and fillers fitted into the rebates. The wing transom has been fitted. This transom is a straight line from sternpost to frame, but the transoms below it will be curved. Meanwhile the hawse pieces have been fitted and the bow roughly sanded.

Gentlemen, if so august a scientific body as the Australian Museum describes Drop Bears, surely you must believe in their existence. Druxey, it is a fallacy that all Australian wildlife will kill you. There is not a single record of a fatal attack by Budgerigars. John

Sorry, Druxey - obviously an Australian product. There is (or was) a non-alcoholic drink sold in pubs (bars) and they had the slogan, 'the drink you're having when you're not having a drink.' It's found its way into the language over here. John

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
