  4. Hang in there, Mark! We're with you mate - even when we live thousands of miles away from you. John

  6. Thanks, Steven. It all lined up satisfactorily when I was doing it, but I'll double check when I go in on Monday. John

  8. She's getting there slowly, Keith. John
  9. Meanwhile, back at the model ………. The stern after the aftermost frame was ripped out, leaving a mess on the sternpost and glue matted shallow frame rebates. The sternpost was cleaned up and fillers fitted into the rebates. The wing transom has been fitted. This transom is a straight line from sternpost to frame, but the transoms below it will be curved. Meanwhile the hawse pieces have been fitted and the bow roughly sanded.

  14. Gentlemen, if so august a scientific body as the Australian Museum describes Drop Bears, surely you must believe in their existence. Druxey, it is a fallacy that all Australian wildlife will kill you. There is not a single record of a fatal attack by Budgerigars. John
  15. Sorry, Mark - didn't have the camera with me. next week - I promise. John
  16. Sorry, Druxey - obviously an Australian product. There is (or was) a non-alcoholic drink sold in pubs (bars) and they had the slogan, 'the drink you're having when you're not having a drink.' It's found its way into the language over here. John
  17. Hello Allison, and a warm welcome to the forum from 'Down Under'. John
  18. A Claytons update (the update you're having when you're not having an update)! I got the last of the stern frames fitted last week and started work on the transoms yesterday. As the museum was very quiet, I actually got three transoms fitted! Then in the last twenty minutes I ripped out all the transoms and the frame I fitted last week. I said back near the start that I was feeling my way a bit with this model as it"s outside the period I'm familiar with - I was obviously feeling in the wrong direction as it just wasn't right. Next week I'll have another go and hopefully have a couple of photos to show that I'm now heading in the right direction again. John
