  1. Coming along very nicely, Danny. Are you going to sink her as a breakwater when she's finished? John
  2. Very nice, Popeye. By the time you've finished the fleet the western side of the North Atlantic will be in danger of being fished out! John
  3. Hello, and another warm welcome from 'Down Under'. John
  4. Hello Cedric, and another warm welcome from 'Down Under'. John
  5. Nils, another way to fit the lifelines is to just drill a small hole but not put an eye in. A bight of the lifeline can then be pushed into the hole using a piece of wire and glued in place. John
  6. You're really steaming ahead with this one, Danny. She's looking really good. John
  7. Nils, These ropes are called lifelines. Lifeboats on "modern" ships also have grab lines (which are never seen on models for some reason) which are ropes which run around under the boat from gunwale to gunwale and are for the purpose of righting a capsized boat. There are usually two grab lines per boat. John
  8. Just catching up after some time away, Bob. She's really looking the goods. John
  9. Boy, she's really come along while I've been away! Great work, mate. John
  10. Just catching up after some time away, Danny. Your coach really looks superb! Just as a sidelight - this photo is of the Cobb & Co. Station at Wanganella, down in the Riverina. perhaps your coach called there on occasions. John
  11. Just found your new building log, Doris. It's a delight to have you back on the forum and building another of your magnificent models. John
  12. Just catching up, Adrian. That's some really beautiful work that you're doing there. John
  13. I'm sorry, Bob, but the Tassie Devil is a critically endangered animal. I'm afraid I might have to report you to the National Parks Service! John
  14. Absolutely first class, Michael (why would we expect anything else?) John
  15. Hello Bob, and a warm welcome to MSW from 'Down Under'. I certainly hope the corporation you worked for was a little more functional that Dilbert's! John
  16. Nice to see some more progress on your beautiful model. John
  17. I notice that the compass card is (naturally) mounted on gimbals, Michael! John
  18. She's really coming along, Popeye! It was usual for the masts to have increasing rake from fore to aft, but the amount was really quite small - only about 1 degree additional rake for each mast. John
  19. I continue to be amazed by your beautiful metal work, Keith! John
