  1. Ah. Starting to take shape. I like the water. Bob
  2. Ya, Popeye. I sure wouldn't want to t be like you. Hope your NOT move wasn't too disturbing and you get to build soon. Bob
  3. Still wondering about which to buy? In industry we were told, "Buy 25% more capacity than you think you will need and you will find you use it all." It's always bad to buy a machine and find out it won't do quite enough. Bob
  4. John: Guy may know better but the best I can tell there was no anti fouling paint. Michael: At present I am looking at the Lettie G Howard. It’s a fishing schooner that was altered at least three times. I want to build it as it was originally. Tom: There’s not much inside. The mahogany you see is the window trim on the other side. I only wish I could match your skill. Piet: Yes, back to building the rest, mostly the railings. Bob
  5. I do not have the mill only the X-Y table. I know nothing about the Z axis but the X-Y only has about 5 degrees turn befor the table moves. Bob
  6. With every boat I build, there comes a time, when the hull and deck are finished and I’m starting on the cabin and deck furniture. At that time I start thinking of the next build. The new boat takes over and consumes all my free time. I get the plans and start doing the research and all work on the present build stops. But after a while the new boat slowly moves into the background and I know I have to finish the present build before I start the new or I would never finish any of my builds. That’s where I am on the Hoga. Now to get back to building. Here are the latest pictures. Bob
  7. The gibbs on the X-Y are adjustable, like ane good machine should be. As for the handles to move the table you have to turn it a few degrees before the table moves but I see that on expensive machines too. Bob
  8. My prayers go out to you and your family, may God bless you all. Bob
  9. I'm glad Walter is still the foreman. He gets such beautiful work out of you. Bob
  10. Do you mean to tell me the boy at the museum was right in asking if you were doing it right? John, if the Stag was not right I’ll accept not being right any day. Bob
  11. John, Nice start. With my schooner plans I need to pay special attention to yours. No pressure, it's all just fun. Bob
  12. I always took Hot sweet tea with a shot of whiskey. Whatever take care of yourself. Bob
  13. Who's the helmsman, Michael? Have we met him yet? Bob
  14. Everything is going to work, even the gimbaled compass. All I can say is it’s a good thing it’s not a motorboat. Putt. Putt. Putt Bob
  15. Rob, I like that method of building for small boats. Nice work. Bob
  16. I keep going back to look again at the boat. Love the colors and the beautiful wood finish. Bob
  17. Glad you are back and hope all is well. You were missed. Bob
  18. Fine work as always. What is the cleat made of? Bob
  19. Looks like you're having as much fun building the model tools as building the model. Good work. Bob
  20. Save me a seat. Scratch building is the only way to go on a Viking ship, the inly way to get it right. Bob
  21. So what does this make, six or is it seven in the works? I always hated moving but did it several times. I never found an easy way. Good luck, Bob
