OC, It is a video worth watching. The amount of work and precision that went into the project is amazing.  The Spits where advanced creatures and cutting edge technology at the time. It is a video ( in 4 parts worth watching).

She's coming along marvelously! I love all the spitfire marks, the MK1 best of all. Have you seen the Guy Marshall special about the reconstruction of a BoB MK1, it's really a great piece of work. It' on you tube, its a Channel 4 Full episodes video. Sorry I could get the link to work right, there shouldn't be any problem finding it. Sorry too, if you've already watched it.

I guess we haven’t come that far. Approx 60 percent of turning accidents with another vehicle or a pedestrian in the US  is when making a left hand turn. The version is blocked by post at the corner of the winshield.  I could see if the top was down and your passenger had long flowing hair,  the offset seat would keep their hair out of your face. You wouldn’t hear them screaming  as much when you really cut it close either!

I just purchased from EBay a Norris drafting set, just because. I love stuff like this. What’s the best thing to clean them up with. Isopropyl and a q-tip.? I had a nice set back high school, but that was before dirt came into existence. All we had were rocks then. It’s actually in great shape, just the nooks and crannies need cleaning.

Supposedly the offset seats gave the driver more elbow room. I guess for whipping around those wicked corners. No drifting!

Without any posts in the last several days I was afraid the village was placed on lockdown!

It seems every structure you turn to I enjoy more than the last. It must have been a challenge  making the ceiling of the archway. A bit of a tight working space, but it looks perfect.

Ken, Are you a transplant?

It’s Somerville, Somerset Co. They have a car night every Friday from May till about August. Not sure what this year will bring.  Usually a lot of classic hot rods and a ton of Vettes. It’s really nice, free, there are lots of sidewalk resturants, but crowds of people so this year is anybodies guess. If you look across the street you can see some of the Hot Rods.

I always liked the boat tails. Here’s an Auburn I saw this past summer in the town next to mine. Cars had a lot of class then. I’m going to enjoy this build.

I just found out that this author has 3 prequel books for Treasure Island and a series of books involving the RoyalNavy in approx 1790. Looks promising so far.

I read much more than watch TV and have been doing quite a lot lately. I was searching around for something new on Kindle and found The Traitor of Treasure Island by John Drake. I figured why not even though I’ve read Treasure Island several times but a long time ago. Anyway I was very pleasantly surprised. It was very well written and a really good version of the tale. I highly recommend it. A little escape is good during these times. The author seems to have a number of similar books which I’ll give a try. For $4.25 it was well worth it.

I love the predreadnoughts, especially the French ones. They look so steampunk! Looking at them they look like the shouldn’t be able to float. I don’t think being a Russian sailor at that time was a very pleasant experience. I had this model and you are really doing an amazing job with it.

That’s true. If I set the wood in the sun for a day before I even use it, it would darken a bit too.

If you are trying to create the look of varnished wood or bright work, what gives the best scale appearance if the wood used is cherry? Regular cherry stain on cherry wood doesn’t have much of an effect. It doesn’t have the richness needed and looks washed out. Mahogany stain doesn’t work well either. Neither does Mahogany for the actual wood. Any ideas?

You definitely have the touch. The grate 2.0 is perfect. Your model has so much character. It makes you want to shrink yourself down, so that you can go explore the ship. I wouldn’t want to get between those two cannon though.
