Looking good, Paul. I believe that you can find pre-formed hulls in the correct scale. But you will find that you will be bashing them to suit your model. Thus, I think you might be better off to scratch-build them.

Real happy to read that you are over the worst of it, Mark ... now, perhaps, you can get back to entertaining us and building your Licorne.

Not sure what your selection criteria for ship-building is, Anton ... but for mine, I establish some spurious connection to whichever family member the build is intended. In the case of my next build, it'll be for a sister, who is married to an Englishman ... so the Revenge fits the bill perfectly.

Amati's Revenge is most definitely on my to-do list. O'course, by the time I actually get around to it, I'm sure there'll be another two - five ships to add to the list.

Thanks, Tom. Yet another of your pictures gets moved to my Ideas Folder for future reference ...

She looks amazing, Jack !! I'm sure that if you took a few ever so slightly out-of-focus pics with a nice sepia background, they'd look exactly like those old historical photographs.
Bravo !!
(PS: You were right ... the surprise was worth waiting for)

Your carving skills are par excellence, Dave (but we already knew that) !! I had a close look at the various stern pics from AOTS and it seems that the eagle in the 1927 version is shown standing with it's legs splayed. It is most definitely a different piece to those on earlier versions, as well as being in a different location (but precisely where you have yours positioned).
I'm trying to upload a photo to show what I mean ... but not having much success.

Lookin' good, Scott. It would be most interesting to see yours and Anton's Sovereign battlin' it out on Lake Monger.

Thanks, Dave. I see you have overtaken me with your own Constitution build. I'm enjoying following that very much. Unfortunately, I haven't made much progress lately, as I am struggling to make the transom line up with the hull properly. I'll post an update soon to show what I mean. It well could be that the problem lies with my limited skills ... or it could be, as I am currently suspecting, that the problem is with the kit itself.
O'course, it cannot be ruled out that stubbornness is a part of the problem, as I still intend to light up the Captain's quarters and go for an 1812-style of stern.
Thanks for dropping by everyone. I'll get back to building soon ...
