  1. Hi Kevin I'm with Piet. Pretty keen to see your next Bismarck update. All the best! Patrick
  2. Hi Dennis I reckon you've got every reason to gaze at your Titanic with a bit grin on your face...I know, because I'm looking at the photos with a big grin as well! What a beauty, especially with the lighting all set up. Very, very nice work, indeed. Cheers Patrick
  3. Hi Hartmut I'm glad to hear that you're over the pneumonia. That wouldn't have been fun! You're doing a brilliant job on the hull and all of the little details that need to accompany it. I'm looking forward to your next update. Cheers and all the best! Patrick
  4. Hi Pete, Piet, Bob, David, George and Dimitris and everyone or their Likes Many thanks for your comments and encouragement! Greatly appreciated Cheers Patrick
  5. Hi Frank - Many thanks! I must admit that the only reason that my model is taking so quick is because it's tiny compared to the larger scale builds, such as your Paragon for example. Regardless of size though, it's all good fun! Hi Michael - thanks. I doubt that I'd chop the side of the hull off this time(!!!) because I'll make the superstructure able to be lifted off to reveal the interior details. Should look good...I hope! Cheers Frank and Michael! Patrick
  6. Hi everyone I've managed to do a bit more on sanding and puttying Majellan's hull. I think the shapely lines are finally starting to emerge now, especially the beautiful flare in the bow. Not bad, I reckon! Also, in case you're wondering why I haven't done the transom yet, it's because Majellan doesn't have a normal transom as in most boats. Instead, the real ship has a stern door which lcan be lowered to reveal a large storage area for the ship's tender and other assorted gear, such as scuba gear, etc. Needless to say, I'll tackle the stern door when the internal fit out starts. Anyhow, here are the photos of the progress, so far. Cheers Patrick
  7. Nice work Michael. I especially love the black and white photos. Such depth and contrast; qualities that you can't always get in the colour shots. Cheers Patrick
  8. Hi Nenad They look like the real deal! Nicely done. Patrick
  9. Hi Dimitris I understand why Filippos looks so happy - nice and neat netting! Well done Cheers Patrick
  10. Hi Willie No dramas - here ya go: Looking good! Cheers Patrick
  11. Hi Bob Off to a great start! I'm looking forward to following along. Cheers Patrick
  12. Love the louvred door! They can be very tricky to do well, and you've mastered it.
  13. Hi Dan Ok, hear me out here. I think I've just had one of those "doh" moments...you know when you whack your head with your fist, thinking why didn't I think of that! Of course, I'm talking about your brilliant idea of using the collette to twist the wire for the eyebolts. Simple, quick, effective and a master stroke of genius. What a great idea! Thanks Patrick
  14. Hi Dan That's true - a man just can't have enough tools! I'm looking forward to following your progress and seeing the hull grow with each update. Cheers Patrick
  15. Hi Giorgio Very nice work on the painting of the hull. With my large scale models, I was often worried that the hulls were too glossy, So I added a clear satin coating to tone it down and weathered the hull extensively with rust stains, grime, etc. All the best! Patrick
