  1. Thanks mark, shouldn't be too long - at a guess I would estimate a start time in say......2050 not far off. no seriously I will kick mu butt and get the pearl done - it will be a win win situ for me then - double doss of Brownie Points. OC.
  2. Lou double - treble check the fit of parts compared to the kit parts for the inner sections as a lot of upgrades can be slightly over scale making closing up the hull difficult at best and impossible at worst, just saves a lot of heart ache latter. OC.
  3. Some of my inspiration - a thoroughly good project that will bring a flying Mosquito back into the air in the UK. https://www.peoplesmosquito.org.uk/ OC.
  4. I was lucky to have my farther who used to tell me the stories of his experiences from UK bases to working in Oz dismantling aircraft ready to be freighted back over to the UK - I miss our chats as they were a real eye opener into how life was for him. OC.
  5. The box contents looked up at me and said "don't stare its rude"😜 OC.
  6. That's all I'm allowed till the Pearl is finished I know my place😉 OC.
  7. I have learned a new talent - staring at the spru's in the box - looking over different parts and imagining how they will fit against each other - shhhhh dont tell the admiral. OC.
  8. Well I Thank You ken, Lou, Mark and every other brave person who gave thier best.💜 OC.
  9. I understand Lou gong from many convo's I used to have with my farther about his service life - one thing I remember him telling me - he and a canadian guy who was stationed together was walking along a country road going into town to the bars, when a US truck went past and stopped my dad and the canadian guy (who was apparently 6ft5) jumped in the back with about 10 american GI's before long a fight broke out the canadian guy jumped out the back and my dad was left to fend for himself - cut along story and all that he acounted for himself and ended up earning thier respect and went drinking with them. When he got back to the field the next day and saw the canadian guy my dad knocked him to the ground. OC.
  10. That was easier for me as I was using Acrylic and used boiled water from a kettle (after it had cooled) to dilute. OC.
  11. Mark brushing will be fine - remember I painted the majority of my Warspite build except for the bottom hull, and she turned out ok, my secret was thin layers not putting the paint down thick right out of the jars/bottles etc but mixed possibly by a third to a half. OC.
  12. Good to hear with the paint setting down well - I know enough people swear by making sure the plastic is really clean from the release agents they use in manufacture - so glad your finding your feet in "plastic world" OC.
  13. Does this help denis, yes I know its the UK based one and a G but it might help. OC.
  14. Those are Gorgeous pics - Thank you so much Yves, yep my late farther who used to work on them as well as others, told me they were basically two merlins with a lightweight body - the merlins in fact had a tendency to be to powerful for the frame, they had considered tweaking the engines for more horse power but there was a worry it would twist the frame, so they left it at just a spitfire eater. OC.
